After Jetta and Addison's parents got home, there was about a ten minute long discussion, but luckily, their parents understood. We weren't able to go to Fratelli's that night, but planned on going Sunday night. The night before we left, Jetta, Addison, and I were sitting on the couch. I started thinking about school, and frowned. Once again, Jetta caught me.
"Scarlet, what is it?" she asked. "Stop that!" I yelled, without thinking. Jetta's expression turned puzzled. "I'm sorry," I said quickly, feeling ashamed for yelling at my best friend. "It's okay, but still. What is it?" Jetta asked again. "I don't want to go to school, because everybody's going to be asking if I'm okay," I replied. "You're going to have to expect that whether you like it or not," Addison said.
"I guess you're right," I answered quietly. Suddenly, I came up with an idea, and sat up a little straighter. "What?" Jetta said. "What if-" but I didn't get a chance to answer because Jetta and Addison's parents came in and we went outside to get in the car. "I'll tell you at dinner," I said as we got in the car.
As we sat down at a table at the restaurant, I was still thinking about my idea. I noticed Jetta and Addison both giving me questioning glances. Ok, enough was enough. I had to tell them.
I turned to my friends, but I knew they were going to be something more soon. I took a deep breath and then got their attention. "Guys, what if I changed my last name to Moore?"
