SOL'S POV

This shit is dangerous, I could've waited for a bus and took the L for my attendance

"Oi, you haven't said a word since we left the bus station. Is there something wrong?" Ella asked.

"I mean I could've waited for a bus instead of dying you know?"

"You could get off and ride a bus anytime ma'am just tell me where to stop" she said in a suggestive tone.

"Trust me it's not the scooter, it's your driving skills that could get us killed" I said under my breath

"What?" she asked again.

"Wala!" I replied.

Even if it's dangerous, I enjoyed the cold breeze as I pass by the cars and people who's on their way to their destination. It's odd to think that we could do something dangerous and still enjoy the moment.

"We're here!"

Ella parked her scooter in front of the shop as I unlock the padlock from the rolling steel door. I immediately went inside to prepare for our shop, tita told me that their shop is always booked during Mondays. I guess everyone wants to grab themselves some coffee before they head off, the shop is in a commercial building and it's accessible to the condos and schools nearby.

I was mesmerized the first time I went here, my eyes met tall beautifully aged buildings nearby.

Click

A bright flash blinded my eyes and I heard a click coming from..

"Since it's your first day, I took a picture just for memories hehe"

I took a glance and saw the flash coming from a pink small camera that flashed again with the same sound that made a while ago, it was Ella's instax.

"If you wanted a photo of me could you at least tell me?" I glared at her.

"Dont you take pictures? specially with moments like this?"

"I don't, I mean I take pictures of my friends but I don't include myself in it." I replied.

"Ah, camera shy huh" she said with a smirk plastered on her face.

"Geez enough about me, start doing your job oi. maaga pa at madaming darating na customers."

EOP
---------------------------------------------------------

Sol pulled the drawer of the cabinet and took out a lily-white towel, she walked towards the sink and damped it. She approached the tables where the customers left their leftovers and cleaned it.

The bell from the top right of the glass door rang, she didn't mind it and kept cleaning. Inaudible steps became louder and it came closer, Sol was bothered by the noise and took a glance. It was a drunk middle aged man walking heavily towards the counter.

"It's 1pm and he's already drunk? damn I thought the Karens earlier were the worst." she whispered to myself.

Sol promptly walked to the counter and started accommodating the drunk man.

"Good afternoon sir, may I take your order?" she asked.

The man who was spaced out looking at the menu suddenly gazed at her, he  instantly knocked off the brochure.

"Pick it up for me, bend over so I could see that ass would ya?" the man said.

A sigh could be heard coming from Sol, she was supposed to call her co worker to help her kick the man out when another set of foot steps could be heard approaching the counter.

"Di ka aalis?" the girl glared at the man.

"Ah.. why would I? you're beautiful as well. Both of you should bend over and pick it up for me." the drunk man said in a vulgar manner.

Sol had enough of this man's bullshit and went to look for Ella in the storage room, she was ready to call the police as well when..

THUD

A loud thud was heard and Sol got alerted immediately, her eyes met the pesky drunk man lying on the floor unconscious, she moved her eyes towards the girl and got shocked.

"Go! before I give you another one!" the girl said furiously.

Sol felt relieved when the man got up and left the shop, she felt thankful. "Fuck.." she whined as she reach for the brochure that pesky man knocked off earlier.

"Thank yo--" she didn't get to finish her statement. "Ah she left immediately? I didn't get to express my gratitude to her" she whispered to herself.

"Sol were you calling me earlier?" Ella said with a puzzled look on her face.

"A drunk man entered the shop and caused commotion, good thing a girl helped me. Di ko na siya naabutan tho, umalis agad." she replied.

Ella teased her cousin "Ohh maganda? diba naghahanap ka ng jowa? baka siya na yun."

Sol sighed and pretended to be busy, she needed to do a few things before she leaves. An hour passed by and Sol was eager to go home early, she tossed her earphones inside her bag and put the phone inside her pocket.

"Oi! Leaving early? You're gonna look for the girl who helped you earlier noh?" the girl with glasses ridiculously said.

"Aish! Enough with her, she may be cute and tough but she's not my type and besides... she looks straight." she answered.

Ella dropped her apron on the counter and looked at Sol's eyes, "You're traumatized aren't you?" and giggled.

"On second thoughts, I'll wear my earphones and listen to relaxing music instead of hearing your ridiculous jokes." Sol said as she unzip her bag and look for her earphones. "Bye! goodluck with your shift!" she hurriedly untangle her earphones and plugged it to her phone.
