She likes to roam around the city, Sol could take a rest while strolling around. She plugged both of her earphones into her ears and played her favorite playlist, that playlist consisted of songs she would like to listen to when she's alone.
It helps her think vividly and kills her time. Sol made it to the restaurant they reserved in.
"Good afternoon ma'am, any reservations?" the waitress asked.
She instantly pulled out her earphones to hear the waitress louder and said "I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong but did you ask if I had any reservations?"
"Yes ma'am." the waitress replied.
"Ah yes, Maris Gamboa." Sol answered while looking around the fancy restaurant her friend booked for the four of them.
The waitress took out a small book, flipped several pages and searched for Maris' name.
"This way ma'am." The waitress lead the way and Sol followed, as she follow her she noticed a familiar face blending in with the customers. It was the customer who helped her earlier sitting with a few strangers.
"I don't know if this is rude but is she following me?" Sol mumbled as she continue to walk where the waitress was headed to but her head still looking at the girl's direction.
She let out a chuckle and confronted herself, "Are you nuts? maybe its just a coincidence, she's cute though." she caught herself grinning and quickly removed her smile.
Sol also noticed a familiar presence close by, she saw a small jovial girl waving at her. The girl was Maris, her sofisticated rich friend who's beautiful and talented.
Maris stretched her arms reaching for Sol and said, "Hey! It's so good to see you again, I nearly forgot what you looked like sa sobrang tagal nating di nagkita"
The gals exchanged beso beso and wrapped their arms around each other, it's April's birthday and they planned a celebration. It's their first time seeing each other after the pandemic.
"I saw your eyes widened at the other table before you head over here ha, did you see someone?" Maris wondered.
Sol replied, "Nothing, it was the girl who helped me earlier with a drunk customer. She left immediately and I didn't get to say thank you to her."
Her smile faded away when she heard what Sol said, "Hala, grabe naman iyon. Kakastart mo palang and there's a drunk customer agad? I just know you're exhausted."
The simple gal reassured Maris and told her, "I think I should get used to them, anyway let's take a seat shall we?"
They both sat next to each other and talked about what happened with their day.
"Bruh, orientation palang ang awkward na sa new school namin. Pano pa kaya pag nag regular classes na.." Maris said.
Sol replied "Sheeesh, kaya niyo yan.. we're here in case you forgot noh."
"April was quiet earlier though, maybe she thought we forgot about her birthday. Belle's plan might fail."
"Speaking of Belle, where are they?"
"Diba nga kunwari di natin naalala yung birthday so sina Belle muna yung maglilibot then later on pa sila mage-eat, diretso na sila dito after shopping." Maris replied.
Few minutes later the waiter handed them a food menu and asked for their order.
Both of them insisted to wait for their friends, if the food was served now it would be cold later once they arrive. The atmosphere got a bit odd," I feel like someone's watching me.." she stammered.
