"Do you wanna do something?" Piper asked, "for, old time sake. Dunno like, a party. Maybe. What do people do in parties?"

Rowan lost track of days. He didn't want to count them anymore.

Rowan and Micheal and hanging out somewhere. They both noticed they hadn't seen any clocks acting up in a few days, weeks even maybe although Kate told Micheal she'd seen one.

After another day and another mock Rowan and Piper were hanging out behind the school.

"You saw it." Rowan said. "The sky isn't real."
Piper looked scared.
"Do you like her?" She asked.
"No! I dunno, maybe. It doesn't matter."
"How does that not matter??"
"Cuz even if she liked me nothing's gonna change..." Rowan stopped.

There was a noise. A high pitched noise like one a tv makes or when you hit you head too hard. Coming from all around.

"What happens after this?" Rowan asked.
"I dunno dude!" Piper said.
They stopped for a minute.
"...do you wanna talk about it?" Rowan said.
Piper slowly looked at him.
"Do you?" She asked.
"Not really. But kind of." Rowan leaned back and Piper did the same.
"Why?" She asked.
Rowan struggled to think of a reason.

The noise was still going on. Not loud but noticeable.

"Oh wow I still can't say it."
"Don't then." Piper quickly said.

Rowan left and stumbled into town, he groaned and felt shitty. He wanted to phone Micheal but thought he'd probably be snogging Kate.

"Rrroooowann..." A voice called out. Rowan turned around to see a clock!!!! It was lying on the floor. He walked up to it, getting more angry with every step. Before he read it he stamped it into the pavement. Fucking curb stomped it. It was a thousand pieces now.

Behind him started shaking. The ground maybe. He looked. It was starting right at him. The town centre. The clock tower. Ticking away. A giant clock face. Looking down at him.

Rowan couldn't breath.
