Ladybug found her way back into her house and detransformed after fighting an akuma in the early hours of the morning. Now Marinette, she collapsed into her bed, hoping that she could get to sleep quickly, catching up on the sleep she missed. Unfortunately, just as Marinette was falling asleep, her mother came into her room to wake her up. Evidently, she had forgotten to set her alarm for today, and she was supposed to be at school in fifteen minutes.
Even though Marinette's school was only across the road, she managed to find herself running late to school everyday. After rushing to get ready, she made her way to school, running into class just before Miss Bustier called out her name. Marinette hurried to her seat and sat down, before turning to Alya, and they started whispering.
Alya: Hey Marinette, tough night?
Marinette: Yes, Shadowmoth is getting more powerful, these fights are getting more and more tiring
Alya: You bet! If you need any help, I know a sly fox that can help you out...
Marinette: Yes, thank you Alya
Marinette looks around
Marinette: Adrien isn't here yet, do you think he is okay?
Alya: Girl, I'm sure he is fine, probably at a photoshoot or something
Marinette: But he can't be- his father never schedules photoshoots for a Monday morning!
Alya: Calm down, everything will be okay.
Alya knew that something was up. She knew that her best friend always remembered Adrien's schedule inside out, but she also knew that it was unusual for him to be later than Marinette to school. She checked with Nino if Adrien had a last-minute commitment, which Nino confirmed that he didn't.
A few minutes later, after the growing worry of the trio, Adrien walked into the classroom, stopping at Miss Bustier's desk to tell her something. When he turned back and glanced at the three of them, Marinette could feel herself going red. He looked so perfect, with his green eyes glittering, his blonde hair all soft and shiny. She knew that his crazy crush of hers was going too far. She had to do something about it, but the thought of saying anything was enough to convince her not to.

Adrien knew Nino was getting suspicious, with his unexpected absences from school occurring so frequently. Miss Bustier was able to be fooled with a quick lie, usually about a photo shoot or filming of a new ad, but he found that Nino wasn't so gullible.
Being Chat meant that Adrien had to lie frequently, and even though he didn't want to, it was forced. He couldn't be upfront to anyone, and he knew he needed someone to talk to. He didn't want to go behind Ladybug's back and reveal himself, but with the akuma attacks in Paris becoming more and more frequent, he could feel himself getting to a point that he needed support. He was falling behind on his classwork, with the image of this picture-perfect gem fading away.
Adrien knew that telling his father was out of the question. No way. Gabriel had turned cold and abusive since Emilie's disappearance. Nathalie also wasn't an option, as she would probably tell Gabriel the second she could. Nino had also proven himself untrustworthy, as he had told Adrien about him and Alya's secret identities not too long ago, just before he got akumatised into Rocketear. He could always tell Ladybug, but he could already imagine what she would say. She wouldn't let him, and head off before he had a chance to detransform. Adrien felt alone, and had no idea on who to talk to.
But then it hit him. The perfect person to talk to. Why didn't he think of it before?
