Subaru suffers offscreen

Suffaru, suffaru; I forgot the rhyme I was gonna use.

The Pleiades watchtower expedition party had recently entered the tower after making their way through the sand dunes somehow.

Subaru single handedly cleared the first trial and complained about how unfair this trial was to everyone while everyone else was just impressed and honestly wanted to praise him.

They go to the second trial and meet the a red-haired man who emanated a lot of pressure in the atmosphere. No one could even dare to speak because of this person's mere presnece. Said person told them that they have to defeat him to get through the second trial after reciting a script till he got bored of it.

Emilia walks up to the red-haired man first, and gets herself ready for battle.

The person then introduces himself, "[Call me the [Stick Swinger]"

Emilia elegantly replies, "My name is Emilia, just Emilia."

"Ohhh~ wh't is a smokin' hottie' like ya' doin' here? Come on, would ya' like ta' come to ma' bed tonigh'?"

"Why do you want me to come to your bed though? Well I will see if I have time."

Natsuki Subaru... died offscreen.

"We should take the second trial immediately. What are your thoughts, Subaru?" asks Julius oblivious to what kind of trauma Subaru just experienced.

Subaru was observing his surroundings with bloodshot eyes. His eyes were rapidly moving from left to right and to left and so on, observing every person, every object, every pattern on the floor and walls.

The cruel horrible death he experienced off-screen was just as horrible as his death in the loop right after he defeated the whale. It rivalled Felix's unnamed mana infiltration torture thing.

"Subaru?" chimes in Emilia from his right-side. Subaru's eyes finally settle and focus on Emilia's beautiful face filled with concern.

He internally calms himself down and finally replies, "It's nothing, Emilia-Tan. I just spaced out." after wiping off Emilia's worries, he turns to face Julius to his left and says, "Yeah let's. But before that I think we shouldn't take Emilia-Tan with us to the second trial. My intuition tells me something bad's gonna occur." Subaru lied through his teeth as he really wanna die by [NTR] again.

Emilia gets a little irritated and admonishes him, saying, "Subaru, stop being a dunderhead!"

"But Emilia, I-" he was trying to convince her to not come. Though he didn't expect to win her love, he didn't want to lose to a goddamn man named, '[Stick Swinger]' of all things. He has tried to gain her love for years, and this random ass guy who looked half-naked in his choice of clothing just said two sentences to win her over.

Emilia wasn't having any of it and interrupted, "Nah-nah, mister. I won't be accept sitting in a corner of the room being useless"

"But Emilia-" It wasn't about being useless. If she takes part in the second trial Subaru's gonna die. He's gonna die a horrible, painful death. And if he isn't able to stop her now he will be stuck in that same loop, dying eternally. He would probably go insane by the end of it but it doesn't matter because the worst thing that would happen in this instance is that the world won't be able to move on. The world will be just locked with him until he permanently dies.

Then Emilia sternly interjects yet again.

"No buts. You are the one who always saves and protects me, but I want to protect you too! I don't want to be the one need to be saved all the time!" and just like that Emilia crushed all of Subaru's hopes of a happy ending.

As Emilia is done admonishing Subaru, they leave the room to go towards the stairway to the 2nd trial or hell in this case.

The screen focuses on everyone but Subaru as he suffers eternally off-screen.
