A/N: Death PACT and Death PACT Again are hippie teams. Prove me wrong.
"Make love, not war!" Pie said, holding up a cardboard sign that had the same slogan on it.
"Eh, what's this?" a woman with long dark hair asked as she exited out of a restaurant. She was giving Pie a curious glance.
"Ma'am, you think this war is unnecessary too, right?" Pie asked, turning to her.
"I'm not sure," the other woman admitted, "I'm not really caught up on the politics that led up to this war. I've been too busy setting out on adventures to really pay attention to whatever's going on with my home country. For all I know, this dispute may be justified."
"But what about the innocent civilians?" Pie asked.
"It's unfortunate, yes, but civilian deaths happen in every war. If we want to stop that, we'd have to get rid of wars altogether," the woman argued.
"Exactly," Pie responded. "I mean, why does war even exist? For all people talk about fighting for their country, do the actual people of the country ever get a say in what the government and military do?"
"Well, to some extent, yes," the woman replied, "but I can see your point. Unfortunately, I don't believe it's possible to stop all wars, but I'll be happy to join you in your cause." The woman stuck out her hand. "I'm Liy."
Pie reached out and shook it. "I'm Pie."
"Hey, that's funny, our names rhyme," Liy said.
"Oh, you're also against the war?" a new voice joined them. Both women turned to see a man with deep dark hair, skin, and eyes walking towards them. "Hi, my name's Black Hole. Nice sign."
"Thanks" Pie replied.
"If you don't support the war either, join us then!" Liy said. "I'm Liy and this is Pie."
"Join you in what?" Black Hole asked, tilting his head.
"In being hippies, obviously." Liy responded.
"Hey Pie, what do you think of my tie dye shirt? Do you think it's hippie enough?"
"Liy, you do realize you don't need to dress up like a hippie, right?" Pie asked. "Even I don't dress like that. You just need to support our cause."
"I know, but at the same time, I decided that being a hippie would be my next adventure," Liy replied.
"How- how is being a hippie an adventure?" Black Hole asked.
"Because it's a new experience," Liy said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Adventures don't always have to be travel. All that matters is experiencing something new. Oh, by the way, Bottle's dressed as a hippie too. Look!"
Indeed, the tall girl was wearing a loose tie dye dress and a peace sign necklace, as well as a flower crown and sandals.
"Hee hee!" Bottle giggled. "I don't know what hippie even means but I like these clothes!"
Bottle had joined their group upon hearing they were against wars and violence, exclaiming that she was "so excited to start preventing war".
Bottle was very sweet and innocent, but wasn't exactly the brightest. In addition, she had a short attention span and Pie couldn't help but get this feeling that she'd drop this whole thing once she found something more fun. Still, at least her friend Tree, who also didn't support the war, had joined their group as well, so he could probably keep her in check.
The real chaotic member of their group and the one that even the normally relaxed Pie couldn't help but somewhat worry about was Pillow, a girl who had first approached them asking, "Did someone say killing?" (The group had been arguing that the war was killing innocents then). Despite that rocky start, Pillow quickly changed her tune, joining their stance against the war. Still, much like Bottle, Pillow could potentially leave their group if something more interesting catches her eye.
Speaking of Pillow, there she was right now, slamming the door open and barely even noticing.
"Guys! I got a new member for our team!" Pillow yelled enthusiastically, dragging another girl behind her.
"Hey, I never agreed to join," the other girl protested. Despite that, her voice was emotionless, even sounding a bit artificial. "You dragged me here. Isn't this basically kidnapping?"
"Pillow, you can't just kidnap people!" Tree scolded. "Not only is that immoral, but it also goes directly against our non-violence policy!"
"I mean, to be fair, she wasn't even violent besides the whole dragging thing," Liy said flippantly. "But still Pillow, we want our members to come here willingly. Did you even ask this pretty girl here if she wanted to join us?"
"I don't even know who this 'us' is," the stranger responded. Though her voice remained even, her face had flushed a bit from Liy's comment about her appearance. She glanced at both Bottle and Liy's clothes. "Are you guys some of those stoner hippies? While I'm also against the war, I have a job at a tech company that I would very much like to keep, so I would rather not do weed."
"Don't worry, we're hippies only as in we're against the war," Black Hole reassured. "We don't do weed."
"We're also hippies because of the way we dress," Liy said. "Well, in the case of Bottle and I at least."
"Well, then, I'd be glad to join you," Pillow's captive responded. "My name's Remote. Also I have a neighbor named Pen who might also want to join. He's been terrified that he might be drafted."
And so their group expanded.
A/N: Sorry for this being rushed. I didn't have much time today because it was my mom's birthday and also my younger sister keeps interfering with me.
