After a good few hours of loud noise, acquaintances and too many drinks, I said goodbye to my University mates.
"Where are you off to now?" One of them asked maybe expecting a longer night.
"I've got one last stop to make." I said simply, I didn't want to be around them anymore, as nice as they were. I needed to be with different people. With that they waved and left towards the train station to go back as I hauled a cab.
I sat inside the small black vehicle and gave him the clubs name. Already incredibly intoxicated.
As I arrived at the club, I looked at my watch to see I was roughly five minuted early, so I went to a wall and leaned against it closing my eyes for a moment to stop it from spinning a bit. Suddenly I heard a loud chorus of screams and the clicks of many cameras at once. As I opened my eyes to see what was happening, I only barely missed a figure whiz by beside me as the cameras stopped and the screams seized. But I didn't miss the brisk head turn the person made at my direction, even though I missed his face. I looked down at my watch and saw that it was midnight and went up to the bouncer. He smiled at me with recognition and stepped aside. I did not miss the bitter expression of the people waiting in line for hours as I walked in after thanking the bouncer.
I sat down at the bar and asked for a glass of ice water first. As I put my hand on my face and tried to calm my spinning head.
"You look like you normally would after leaving here, not just entering." A deep voice chuckled. As I heard the click of a glass being placed in front of me.
"Shut up Kenny, I'm not in the mood for your witty shit, I want Fiona to tend to me." I said with a groan as I opened my eyes to grab the glass.
"Sorry princess, you're stuck with me. There's some celebrity birthday going on upstairs, Fiona's tending to them." He said with a smirk. I suddenly opened my eyes with a little interest.
"What celebrity?" I asked sitting up straight as Kenny, the bartender, chuckled at my new found energy.
"I wouldn't know, some attractive boys though, Fiona and the girls seemed excited." He said as I finished my glass of water and he placed a rum and coke in it's place. Bartender friends were true friends.
"Could you get me in?" I asked. "I want to meet Fiona, and the added attractive celebrity thing isn't a bad idea.
"It's a horrible idea, you're very drunk, sit here." He said with a laugh. Then with a thought he said, "One of them has to let you in, but I'll see what I can do, Mr. Baxter asked me to tend all your needs. Rough day eh?"
"The worst. But that's a conversation for the sober."
"Good enough." He said as he gestured to a waiter and I downed my drink.
"Give me a strong drink to last will you Kenny?" I slurred a little. He looked a little hesitant but just sighed and picked a glass up, they did know me well here.
As I sipped on my drink I looked up to see the waiter Kenny just talked to whispering into someone's ears, their back to mine. The waiter then pointed to me and the man only slightly turned his face to look. The last thing I remember are those blue eyes.
