Magic's POV
I step out of the car, my foot was down on the pedal at full speed trying to get here fast, and I even lost my men following behind me. We've been trying to get a hold of anyone at the Villa, I even tried Charlotte's phone and it wouldn't even ring through which made me more anxious to get there. Looking at the villa in front of me makes the pit in my stomach much larger than it was hours ago. The door wide open with bullet holes pierced through it, one touch and it looks like it would fall off. Glass smashed, plants ripped from the root in the ground, It's a mess and it makes me not want to enter. I step forward and that's when I hear all my men pull up and coming out of the SUV's. I don't glance back, I know their faces will be filled with shock because they know what they're going to find inside, I know too. The place looks a mess from the outside, I can Imagine the inside.
Walking down the path towards the door, glass crunching underneath my boot. When I enter I see the bodies. "Check to see if anyone is alive and make sure no one is here", I say to my men following behind me. I hear them take their guns out as they begin checking the bodies and walking down the halls. I'm staring down at the body beside my black boots, It's Arlo. He's fairly new to the family but that's what these men were, family. No matter if I hired them a week ago, a month ago and in Arlo's case six months ago. It seems to be most of my men lying on the floor in a puddle of their own blood. There isn't nearly enough of Vlad's men laying on these floors.
"We checked downstairs, who ever was here is either dead or gone. No pulses yet", Carlos says standing at the other side of Arlo's body.
"Round our men up, take them back to New York", I sigh looking around me. "Call their wife's girlfriends, boyfriends. Anyone they had and tell them that we're sorry. Give money to their loved ones to help them with anything they need"
Carlos nods, I look to the left looking up the stairs, a body against the wall in the corner of the stairs as if he was shot and fell back, I'm glad it isn't one of my men. "Boss", I hear as I take the first step, "One of them is alive but in bad condition", Seth tells me.
"Get any information out of him before putting a bullet through his head", I say to him before ascending upstairs. Blood all over the walls as I continue up and past the body.
When I reach the top I look to the right but it's silent, I'm trying not to let the only thought that keeps fighting it's way through. Where is Charlotte? I hope I don't see her laying here with my men. I look to the left where my room is men piled up at the door, not so much piled but there is no space to walk. I step over them and I hear a grunt. My eyes snap up to Nick leaning against the bookcase that is open, only a few guns and ammo boxes left, he's wearing a vest but the other one is gone.
I kneel down in front off him, his head hanging low as he holds his arm. "Nick?", I say holding two fingers on his wrist. He's been shot in the arm, his blood is dripping down to his fingers creating a pool of red directly underneath the arm he's holding. He grunts again, but this time it sounds more painful. "Get Beth", I say when I hear footsteps behind me.
"Yes sir", Carlos says.
We had taken Beth with us in case of something like this, she was told to wait in the car until she was told otherwise. "Magic", Nick struggles to say.
"It's okay, man. Hold your strength", I'm glad he's still breathing but if Charlotte isn't with him then where is she?
Beth comes in and lowers him onto the floor, I place a pillow under his head as she takes the bulletproof vest off. "Oh Nick", she sighs sadly. She rushes to open her bag. "Carlos get my other kit from the car, I need to put him on morphine, he's in a lot of pain and I need to get the bullets out"
