the second haley knew greta was asleep in her own room she quietly left out the front door and was greeted by george waiting outside.
it was 11 o'clock at night. the perfect time to escape reality. the moonlight shined on george and haley as they walked to the abandoned park. only the street lights illuminated the sidewalk as the street was a ghost town, no cars in sight.
"can i meet him haley?" george looked at her with a smile on his face along with curiosity. he was talking about london. george only knew about him because haley trusted him the most. even if they only knew eachother for two days. they just had that connection like they knew eachother for years. decades even.
haley looked back at george and smiled as she nodded.
they continued to walk for a few more seconds through silence until haley was sweeped up off her feet and spun around by a tall figure. you couldnt make out its features because they didnt pass a street light yet. but haley laughed with pure joy as she was put down. they were under a light finally and george was suprised for a minute.
what stood infront of haley was a very tall slender boy.but he wasnt human. he had tall black horns coming from his head and a tail with a point at the end. his eyes were completely black, but the pupils was a x with a circle around it in orange. his freckles were orange and black that scattered all over his pale face. he had a collared black shirt on tucked in his black ripped jeans and his belt. silver chains dangled from his waist as his hands were covered in rings and his ears pierced in all sorts of ways possible. he wore neon orange converse that looked like they seen better days. and the smile on his face as he looked down at haley seemed warm and intent.
"hiya haley bug!" he smiled at haley looking down at her. he then turned to george once he saw him from the corner of his eye.
"is this george?" the boy seemed to smile more looking at george. george just shyly stood there a little nervous.
"mhm, thats georgie" haley laughed as the boy went up to george and shook his hand.
"hiya kid! the names london if you dont know, i may seem scary but i dont bite" london laughed as george eased a bit and smiled softly.
the three of them all walked together to the abandoned park silently as london hoped on the top of the play house and looked down at george and haley as he stuck his tounge out that was forked in two like haleys."hey no fair your tall idiot" haley rolled her eyes as london laughed, helping haley and george up.
a hour went by as the three sat on the playhouse roof. haley and london leaning on eachother both smoking a cigarette and george sitting on the edge sipping on some vodka that he stole from clays stash.the night air burned their noses as they talked about whatever they thought of. normally it was just haley and london that would do this, but now they have george to join them.
"so you died to brain cancer london?" george asked as he took a sip from the vodka bottle dangling his legs off the edge.
"yup, and trust me you do not want to die bestie" london laughed bluntly as he watched the cloudy black sky. haley was silent as this happened.
she wasnt the kind of person to want to look back at her twin brothers death. just the thought of it brought back the pain. the smell of the hospital room, the sound of the heart monitor blaring in your ears as you saw on the other computer screen the sight of london's brain dissolving at a slow but fast pace. watching her own brother, her bestfriend since birth, lose the ability to even speak correctly and hold his eyes open. but what was the worst to look back at was how quickly his skin became cold and his eyes went blank, staring at her soulessly as haley felt the world spin as it only focused on londons blank face.cold,colorless,just.....gone. but that was the moment his voice was in her head trying to comfort her. his voice breaking as his sobs could be heard and he continued to try to calm the both of them. ever since that day they were like one person. making sure the others choices wont end in haleys death or any trouble.
it must have been a few minutes that haley was lost in a flashback.london gently shook her as she snapped back.
"hey- you ok?" london said softly to haley as she weakly nodded. they both tried not to mention that day too much. it was engraved in both of their minds clearly. and was a pain to look back at.
london moved haley so she was between his legs and leaning on his chest as he held her close with his arms as he tossed his cigarette away onto the wet mulch underneath the structure.haley threw hers away to as she held londons hands as they were around her. londons skin was cold to the touch since he was dead. but it still comforted haley.just knowing that london was still with her helped.
george looked over at the two and sat next to london.
"everything ok?"
london nodded as he looked at george.
''we should get home, its like 1 in the morning" london sighed looking down at haley. "i can just teleport us to the house and you can stay the night if you want george" he smiled softly as george nodded.
before the three knew it they were at haleys house in her bedroom.london still held haley was he layed on her bed and took the space buns out of haleys hair. george lied next to them and dozed off to sleep. haley and london layed there in silence enjoying the moment.londons tail wrapped around haleys thin and small body as the led lights were a deep and soft blue. music softly played as london hummed their favorite softly as it played on the radio.
"You've got a second chance
You could go home
Escape it all
It's just irrelevantIt's just medicine"
it was a comfort song for the two of them. haley learned how to play it on guitar to sing to london as he was being treated for his cancer. even if it was 1 in the morning. she would sweetly sing it for him when he was feeling upset or a little sick on the days of his treatment. and it became haleys comfort song london sang to her when she was upset because she was thinking of him.thinking of how she lost him.how they lost eachother.
london felt haleys breath become uneasy as tears fell down her soft cheeks. black colored tears from her eyeliner. london tightened his grip as you heard haleys soft whimpers and sobs in the room.the air seemed to be thick and heavy. the more the song continued the harder it got to keep it in and breathe normally.
"its ok haley bug... im here.... you didnt lose me fully..." london quietly said as he buried his face in her shoulder, trying to keep her calm and refrain from using her inhaler.
"b-but its like every s-second- the day r-replays and- and it hurts-" haley choked on her tears as london only held her tighter.
"l-london- i-its not the s-same anymore- y-your skin is cold- and you cant t-touch water- and-and we cant- do what w-we used to-"
"i know bug... i know.... but we can still hang out and cuddle on the bad nights and cry together on the happy ones, rant to eachother and fall in love together..... im still here.... but im no longer in the pain i used to be.... my head doesnt hurt anymore and im not longer confused.... i can talk without stuttering and my vision isnt blurry. i can move smoothly and i can understand things more." london choked on his own tears as the two sat there, with their song in the backround and the blue lights shining. they finally calmed down and fell asleep. with haley in londons arms.
