It was a sunny day in LA and a year after the cancellation of the disney show that didn't get far in the television world, Good morning miss bliss.
NBC wanted to make a hit Saturday morning show for all kids and tweens so they decided to create a show called
Saved by the bell
At the time Samantha Haynes was a rising star from her role of Anne Shirley on the Canadian movies Anne of green gables and Anne the sequel.
(A/n instead of Megan follows playing Anne she's going to be in her place because the actress I'm using is from Anne with an E)
After the finale of the two hit movies Samantha took a break from acting to get involved in the real world, until her manager set up an audition for the show
She originally auditioned for the role of Kelly alongside Elizabeth Berkeley but unfortunately after failing 4 auditions both Samantha and Elizabeth were given role.
"After the success of Sams two movies Anne of green gables and Anne of Avonlea, we thought she was to be a great fit with the cast and for the kids to love as Anne of green gables was a kids book and loved by many people," said Peter Engel in an interview
On a cold December day Samantha got the role of Claire Kapowski the red head tempered cousin to Kelly Kapowski
Unfortunately during the time she got picked to do a mini series aorta like Anne of green gables but called Road to Avonlea alongside Jonathon Crombie who played Gilbert Blythe in the movies, she had to turn it down as she wanted to step away from the Anne Franchise for a while
"I had to turn it down because I wanted to step away from the Anne of green gables spotlight for a while, I'll consider doing a final film but for now I want to take a break from Anne Shirley and focus on Claire's character," said Samantha in an interview in 1990
