Sol jumps at the feeling of a hand on his back, he wraps his arm around the wrist and twists almost to its breaking point.

"Woah!" The voice was masculine, and the hand was large, I follow it up till I see Jason's surprised expression. "Sol!"

Sol's eyes widen and he makes an O with his mouth at the sudden change in atmosphere.

Just a few seconds ago he was stuck in his head thinking about the 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍 old days between him and his old camp. The abuse he's had to endure just to keep living. The scars that are painted all over his body by one single person.

One person who haunts him as long as he's alive.

Even the name makes him shiver, a chill running down his spine. Sol looks at the ground so the shadows of night mask his face.

"Sol?" Jason places his hand under Sol's chin and tilts his head up to see Sol's face. Terror lies across his face, tears gather in his eyes. His lip wobbles as he tries not to cry.

But the dam breaks and he sobs. Heartbreakingly, the groups strong willed jokster, breaks. Not caring who heard or saw him, he sobbed his heart out. He fell against Jason as he dropped to the ground.

His hand clutches Jason's, not threatening, but as a life source. He buries himself against Jason crying, holding onto him as if he
Could just make everything better.

And to Sol? He just might.

Jason's arms wrap around Sol's trembling figure. Uncomfortable and unsure what to do, he hugs Sol. He holds him like Sol holds Jason. Tight grips, not letting go anytime soon.

Sol wonders why, why couldn't he stop himself like he's done so well up till now. He's done so well at hiding away from everything and everyone. So why couldn't he just, sᴛᴏᴘ. Everything he was holding in just Snapped. He wants to stop so bad.

Yet he couldn't. Everything he's been holding back came tumbling out like a tsunami. Overwhelming the both of them.

Jason freaks out in his head wondering what to do, which is pretty obvious, but something he doesn't wish to do.

Which was to comfort Sol.

But for some reason, seeing the boy so broken, and in despair, frustrates him.

It makes him mad. Who could hurt Sol into the mess he is? Who could hurt him so bad that he's broken into having to be someone else, someone who's not truly him.

How could they?

Sol, despite how different he could be, is nothing short of affectionate, bright, 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤. Something, they all adore even without saying so. He's something they needed. And to see the sunshine so sad, and down in the dumps, really sets him off.

With this being out in the open where everyone can see, where everyone heard, He hates it all the more. Having to have comfort Sol so openly. The burning stares of eyes on them, he glares at them all shaking his head as one after another tries to get closer. Possibly to comfort Sol, or to help Jason out of this predicament, but he makes them all stay away.

Why he did that?

He didn't know, what he did know was that Sol needed him. So despite all the thoughts and impulses to say no and push him away, he stays.
