"Chiaki is being adopted."

Soren's eyes widen at the news, he couldn't believe it. It just didn't seem real. It had to be a joke. She couldn't be leaving. It wasn't fair, it just wasn't fair!

Tears gather in his eyes as he tries to ignore the pain, the pain in his leg and the pain in his  chest. It didn't matter at this moment. What mattered was what mama just said. What she just did.

It just. . Wasn't fair. .

It was overwhelming. The despair he was feeling, filled his entire body. It took over the sadness, the pain, the anger. He sat there with a blank look, before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and his world turned black in unconsciousness.

Soren collapses into Mama's arms who brings him close into her body, hugging him to her chest. The others too shocked by the news to notice Soren's unconsciousness form.

Soren's brain started up again, and the first thing that hit him was the sharp pain in his leg, next was the grogginess as he tries to open his eyes. Everything comes flooding back into his mind the more he awakes. And the more he awakes the more he wishes he should have stayed asleep. Even if it scared him.

Tears gathered in his eyes before he even has a chance to open them, they fall as he trembles in his spot, maybe if he'd open his eyes, this would be real. It just can't be. He didn't want this to be real. He placed an arm over his eyes. But he opened his eyes anyway, he knew he couldn't avoid this, there wasn't enough time.

Tears blurring his vision, he wipes his eyes the best he can but they just keep coming. He sniffles and gasps as he tries to breathe, it comes short the more he tries to inhale. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't stop crying. Only now did he notice that he was alone. Alone in the recovery room.

Soren sits up clutching his chest, he breathes in desperately for air but gets nothing but gasps. His head not getting enough oxygen, gets dizzy as he wobbles in his spot. He knew what this was. A panic attack. But since fighting his other ones off for so long, it overtakes him further than ever before. And he didn't know what to do. So he sat there, fighting off a panic attack with little success.

When a hand touched his back he flinched hard, away from it. Soren didn't want anyone touching him at this moment, his moment of weakness. It scared him, frightened him, more than the demons who await to eat them. In fact, he wasn't even afraid of them, but of touch. He hated it. The only touch he loved, was from mama. But after what she just did, what she did to Chiaki. He didn't want it anymore. He didn't care that she broke his leg. But sending Chiaki away to get adopted? Eaten? He just couldn't deal with that.

"Breathe." They pull Soren into their hold and places his head close to their heart so he could hear their heart beat. Soren pulls and thrashes in their hold trying to get them to let go. But they don't. "It's okay, Soren." They say as they run their hand through Soren's hair, trying to calm him down.

Soren's chest feels a little lighter than before and his breathing started to calm down surprisingly. He looks up through his tears to see who was holding him, and to his surprise,
It was mama. He tries again to get out of her grip but she was too strong, she didn't let go until Soren finally let go and fell into her hold.

"Why. . Why are you doing this mama. . ?" Heartbrokenly, his voice barely comes out a whisper. He needed an answer. But he didn't get one. Only the sweet sounds of humming that could put him to sleep. And with how tired he was, especially from after the attack, he almost did fall asleep. But the pain of his leg kept him awake.

"Please, tell me it's a joke. . You can't send her away. ." Soren begged but got no answer once again. His heart takes a hit each time he didn't get an answer to his questions. Falling deeper into despair. He just, couldn't handle it.

It, wasn't fair. .

It was time. He couldn't believe it, it was time. Soren didn't want this day to come. He wishes he could turn back time. Change something different. But he couldn't, and he knew that now. Now that this was happening.

He couldn't go down there, knowing, that she was being sent to her death. He didn't want to go. He didn't want her to go. But he had to be there. Or he'd regret it. He knew this.

And yet, that didn't stop the tears he tried to stop from falling, fall. His heart broke, shattered like glass. Seeing Chiaki dressed up in her departing clothes, a bag packed with who knows what, her trying to act like this was normal. But he could see straight through it. It wasn't normal, it was far from normal. She was being sent to her death!

Nothing made sense at this point, and with her departing words, just made it all the more harder.

He didn't want this. This was the furthest thing from what he wanted. He just, wanted Chiaki back. So with enough strength left, Soren left the room with his crutches in hand as he tried not to breakdown. He had to stay strong!

For Chiaki. .
