New stumbles into their apartment after a long day of staring at figures and diagrams. Tay is standing by the water dispenser next to the kitchen. He is still in his work clothes and looks even more worn out than New himself. His body gravitates towards Tay like a magnet. The older man lifts an arm and New, like they've done many times, snuggles up to his side.
"Did you just get in?" New questions as they drag their tired feet to Tay's bedroom. "You look like you survived a car crash."
"You don't look that good yourself."
New chuckles. He tugs on Tay's tie and pulls the loosened knot over his head. "I'm sensing work was stressful."
He nods. "I'm still getting used to the fast-paced environment. I'll get a hang of it soon."
Tay is one of the few lucky ones to have had a job lined up right after graduating. His outstanding grades got a horde of companies knocking at his door.
"I know you will, Mr. Valedictorian." The last button of Tay's shirt comes off and he pushes it off his shoulders.
"Thank you. How was class?"
"Tedious."
"Is that all I get?"
"You know how it is, Teh." He pulls his T-shirt over his head and leaves it beside Tay's on the floor. The roommates walk into the spacious grey-themed bathroom together.
New shucks off his pants and underwear and slides into the shower first. Tay follows shortly after. The lukewarm water slices into their skin and disappears down the drain.
"I can take some assignments off your hand," Tay volunteers.
New shakes his head and hangs his arms around his roommate's neck, smiling when their bodies press together from the knees up to the chest. "You have enough on your plate at work. You don't need the extra workload."
He captures Tay's lips. His roommate lets out a soft moan, wet hands driving down to grab New's ass. Their lips move fluidly against each other until they come up for air.
New looks up at Tay through wet bangs accompanied with a wetter smile. "Kissing you never gets old."
Tay huffs a laugh and reaches for the shampoo. He lathers up the shampoo in his hands and massages it into New's hair. "You know I don't mind taking some of your workloads off, right? It's no problem for me. Whatever you need, just ask me."
"I know. Don't worry, I'll finish them by myself."
"Okay," he says but New knows he doesn't think it is. Tay specializes in fixating on a problem until he solves it. A lot goes on in his head but he would happily set his worries aside to take on another's.
He rinsed the shampoo out of New's hair and pressed the bottle into his hands.
New works on Tay's hair with keen sedulity. One of his favorite things to do is wash Tay's hair. It is one of the few times he gets to take care of Tay. The moments he has his hands in Tay's hair, with the man shooting spaced out glances at him, to him, are the most intimate they have been.
"If you want me to graduate and work with a top company like you are, you need to let me do stuff on my own. You can't pamper me forever."
"It's not pampering, Hin. I just don't want you to be tired."
New smiles up at him. "You think I want you to be tired?" He runs shampoo lathered hands down Tay's rigged back. "Thank God it's Friday. We're going to lay down all weekend and do nothing but have sex and eat junk food until our bellies explode."
