I stretched my arms above me, letting out a sleepy yawn as I walked down the rocky path leading from the castle. It was my first day 'on the job', if you could call it that, and I was already fed up with it. Anger bubbled in my stomach as I prepared to walk around the perimeter of the village, not even sure what I was supposed to be looking for.

I slouched, one hand in the pocket of my jeans and the other on my bag. I stared around at the trees as I walked, not seeing anything out of the usual. What would be out of the usual, anyways? All that's around here are trees, mountains, and birds. All I could guess was that Miranda must've been doing some messed up stuff (if you can get any more messed up than human experimentation) to feel the need to have someone on the lookout. But surely she was only dabbling in things in the village?

I walked past the village, starting at it's streets longingly. I was so close. Just a minute away, somewhere down there, was Jack and the rest of my family. Did they know what happened to me? Where I was? I could only imagine how worried Jack was. I wish he could know how concerned I was for him. I wish I could tell him about everything that had happened: my mutation, Mother Miranda, the strange lords, and my forming plan to get back to him. How would I get back, anyways?

Of course, it had only been three going on four days since I had learned about all of this, so I couldn't come up with a plan that fast. I would have to eventually, though, and the sooner the better. I could always go along with what Heisenberg wanted. We would kill Miranda and go our own ways. Besides, if she was as strong as she supposedly is, maybe it would be hard to get away from her. The problem is knowing how long it would take to go through with all that. By the time we get done with it, Jack may have moved on and found someone else.

I sighed, twisting the silver ring on my finger. I didn't know what to do. The only other idea I had come up with was to slip out when everyone was busy with something. I could gain their trust, and then when something big happened, I could run away without being noticed. I just didn't want to risk Jack and my family getting hurt. It's a hard decision. I'm sure I can figure it out soon, though. I have to.

I turned from the village, a hopeless feeling in my stomach. I began walking toward's Heisenberg's factory, silently reassuring myself that everything would work out. I didn't need to stress myself any further. Besides, that old freak was probably going to work me to death anyways.

I walked through the many trees, going far past the village. I eventually made my way to a cave, going down through it to get to the stone bridge. When I finally got over the bridge and through the scrap yard, I stood in front of the closed garage door of the factory, expecting it to open. I waited for a moment, not really sure what to do. I looked around, looking for possibly another open door. I wasn't sure if Heisenberg was actually in there or not. Perhaps I was too early? With a bit of hesitation, I lifted up my hand to knock. I flinched as the door suddenly opened with a mechanical whir, startling me. I took a few steps back, watching as the metal door moved slowly upwards.

When it was finally done, I stepped into the garage like area, expecting to see the tall man. I furrowed my eyebrows when I realized he wasn't there. I walked further back into the room, deciding to wait for him. He would turn up soon, and it wouldn't hurt to take a look around while I waited, right? I would be working with this guy for awhile, so why not?

I walked to the familiar table at the end of the room, which had pictures of Miranda and the other Lords pinned above it. Around it were some shaggy old sheets, pinned up like curtains. The had been pulled back slightly, but I pulled one side of it to get a better look at the table. Blueprints and random notes were scattered across it, all of them being about different things. One in particular caught my eye.
