It all started on the first day of college. I was already 18, and my best friend Rose and I were running late for orientation. We hurried through the corridors, our footsteps echoing loudly. As we finally reached the door to the orientation hall, we paused to catch our breath.
Opening the door, I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. Every head in the room turned to look at us. Flustered and trying to avoid the judgmental stares, we walked quickly to the nearest empty seats, our heads down. I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, and I prayed silently that no one would remember this awkward entrance.
Settling into our seats, I tried to focus on the speaker at the front of the room, but my mind was already wandering. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a journey that would change everything.
