Chapter 2

Elara

After chatting with Owen for a bit he eventually goes and lays down to sleep I do the same. In the morning I wake up and see Gia on her phone she looks up when she hears me sit up and squeals waking up Owen. "Omg Elara you scared me I thought you wouldn't make it" Gia says squeezing me looking really sad "sorry" I say blushing a little, but she just says "at least your alive that's all that matters" I tell her "please don't tell anyone about this." she stutters a bit "o-o-okay " she says. I glare at her and say "What did you do" she looks down and mutters " I told Claire" "YOU TOLD CLAIRE" I yell she knows what blabber mouth Claire is. Thats when Owen says "Claire's one of my sisters whats wrong" I snap back saying "She's gonna tell the whole school I tried to kill myself" Owen says " no she won't ill make sure she doesn't". Even though he can't garentee anything I like that he tried to comfort me.

School starts on Monday and today's Saturday so I gotta put my happy face back on. Later my parents bring me the newest phone in stock since I broke my phone when I jumped Owen looked really surprised then I realized he doesn't really know me so it might be a little weird that I got a brand new phone out of thin air. Owen chats with me a bit before he leaves and I get his phone number he tells me "call or text if you ever need anything" I just reply  "will do" as he leaves.

On Monday I pick out a bright butterfly 🦋 shirt with black ripped jeans and blue airforce ones. I take my car over to Gias and we drive to school but on the way I see Owen jogging and ask if he wants a ride he says sure and hops in. When we get to school I figure out me and Owen have the same first class so he says he will walk with me. On the way he asks "why are you suddenly so cheerful after what happened" I tell him "I can't afford to be sad" he just gets confused but changes the topic after class we say bye.

I go to my locker and see Dj there I roll my eyes and tell him to go but instead he says "come on baby let's get back together" I push him off my locker and just walk away to my "friends" Laura,jade,Ashley,Avi and Lola they invite me to go to this party Dan is throwing I agree and just walk to lunch with them. "Did you hear" Ashley says "what" everyone else says "I heard Dan and Owen are best friends which means we get to hang with two team captainssssss at once" I roll my eyes Dan Is captain of the lacrosse team and Owen is captain of the swim team so everyone drools over Dan and Owen thats how I knew about Owen. I would tell the girls I met Owen but I don't want them to ask how.

Owen

I enter the lunch room with Dan and look around for Elara because for some reason I can't get her off my mind. I finally spot her and start walking up to her but all her friends start to huddle and whisper so I just go back to Dan. "Hey bro see that chick over there" Dan says pointing over at Elara "yeah what about her" I say confused". "She was captain of the dance team last year I hope she trys out again cause she looked hot" Dan says with a smirk on his face "I would kill to hit that" my friend Marcus says "I heard she's a virgin" says Lucas "really I thought she was a hoe" Luke says. I look around and glare at them all "woah calm down dude" Dan says "you guys are really dirty minded and annoying sometimes" I snap back they just roll their eyes in response.

After lunch I see Elara still sitting at her table so I walk over there."hi, what are you up to" I say sitting down "well im gonna head to class in a minute but I'm trying to decide my outfit for this weekend, Gia sent me a bunch of dresses online the other day so I'm trying to see which one I should get" I look over to her phone and say "that one" I point to a baby blue dress. She agrees and hits the buy button I look down at the bottom of the screen and see the dress is 8000 dollars my eyes widen at the price but I look away really fast when she sees my face. We talk a bit more and we go our separate ways.

On the night of the party I show up to Dan's at 7 the rest of the guys are already there we just hang out in his basement till people start coming at 8. At 7:40 people knock so we open the door and we see Elara,Gia and the rest of her friend group they brought some drinks and snacks. Around 8:30 mostly everyone's there and dancing I spot Elara by herself and walk up I see she looks sad when I get to the table I asked if she's okay she just shrugs and said she's fine. I give her a concerned glance and she finally speaks "everyone always expects me to be perfect and I'm not" she says "I'm sorry" I say with a little sadness in my eyes I feel bad for her. "It's not your fault" she said with a tear sliding down her face I take her to step outside so she can have some fresh air and she tells me the reason she tried to kill herself was because she has stage 4 cancer my eyes widen upon hearing that I look down. I can't help but feel like my heart is being ripped out I haven't known her very long but that made me feel like I was stabbed I looked up at her and we just hugged.

Elara

After we hugged I could feel the tension in the air I know it's probably to soon but I kind of like him just as I'm about to say something Dj walks up. "Hey baby" Dj says with a grin on his face "I'm not your baby or your girlfriend so leave me alone" I say glaring at him "baby don't say that you know we are meant to be" he says smiling ear to ear looking at Owen who just gets up and says "I'll talk to you later" I can't help but feel mad Dj ruined that moment so I tell him "would you just stop" with a mad look on my face "you never tell me to stop when I'm fucking you all over your house" he says grinning.So I just walk away and try to look for Owen but when I ask Dan he says Owen left "you know I could give you the night of your life" Dan says with a smirk on the side of his face I just give him a disgusted look and go home.

I try to call Owen a few times but he doesn't answer so I just lay on my bed in my thoughts till I hear foot steps approaching. My oldest brother Alex walks in and sits on my bed "what are you doing" I ask him with a confused look. He just hugs me and says you "your gonna make it I know you will" I can't help but cry Alex is the only one who understands how I feel, he knows how scared I am. We chat for a little and then he asks a question "are you dating anyone" he says looking intensely at me "ye-nope" I say he looks at me carefully then just say ok and hugs me and leaves. I check my phone with 9 missed calls from Gia so I quickly called her back then layed down to go to sleep.
