Michael's POV:
The familiar sensation of a beautiful, warm body next to mine makes the creeping sense of awakeness significantly more comforting as I look over to find my girlfriend, Lisa, naked in my bed. The smile that spreads across my cheeks as I analyze her face is blissful. I clear my throat to rid it of early morning harshness as I stretch my body and scoot closer to her."Good morning," I say softly as she turns her head and looks at me.
"Good morning, Michael," she says with a smile. I bend over and kiss her softly on the lips, reliving the events that happened just last night.
Almost as if she reads my mind, Lisa smiles at me and says, "You're amazing in bed you know." I begin to blush, Lisa and I have made love twice now, and I couldn't be more satisfied after each time. I kiss her softly again before getting up and pulling on my boxers and shorts. I smile at Lisa again before and heading out to my bedroom balcony, the warm summer breeze grazing my face and blowing through my black curls. Lisa comes out with her robe on and grabs me by the waist. I look down at her and we kiss.
"What's for breakfast?" She asks softly, her voice never ceasing to unravel me.
"I don't know, what would you like, my love?" I ask sweetly.
"How about some pancakes," she suggests, she knows I love pancakes.
We head downstairs into the kitchen and I begin to make the pancakes. I'm pouring the pancake batter and the milk into a bowl when I hear the doorbell ring and ask Lisa to get it. She opens the door and I hear a familiar voice that makes me stop in my tracks. I head to the door to find my twin brother, Austin. The mere sight of him makes a nauseating lump form in the back of my throat. He and I have never been close.
"Hey," I state simply.
Austin looks at Lisa and notices that she's only wearing a robe and says, "I guess you two were busy." The jealousy dripping from his voice is poorly hidden. Austin has always been jealous of my successful career and my girlfriends, but especially Lisa. Whenever he sees her with me it's like he's disgusted, it truly makes my blood boil.
"Hey Lisa, how you doing, love?" Austin asks as he pulls Lisa into a long hug. His choice of words only makes that feeling in the pit of my stomach worse.
She smiles and says, "I'm fine, how are you Austin?" I can't help but feel a flare of jealousy as he flirts with her. I acknowledge that Lisa probably wouldn't want to make a scene or anything, and I completely respect that. I just wish that she wasn't so friendly towards him—God knows he doesn't deserve it.
"God...you look phenomenal with just a robe on," Austin says while biting his lip, pulling the string of her robe a bit as if teasing what's underneath.
I swiftly interrupt and say, "Would you mind helping me with the pancakes, Lisa?"
"Sure, babe," she says as I grab her hand and see Austin sending daggers my way.
We finish up the pancakes when Lisa asks Austin if he would like to join us for breakfast. Once again, a pang of jealousy erupts within me. Seriously? Lisa is fully aware of my hatred towards my brother. She has encouraged me to try and get along with him, but I just don't think that's possible—especially with the shit he pulled when he arrived.
"Sure, I'd love to," he says as we all sit down at the dining table together. Austin and I both take a seat on either side of Lisa.
"These are great," Austin says with a smile that I can only assume is fake. Lisa smiles at him and I decide that it would be best to just look down at my food. I'm biting into my second pancake when I drop my knife on the floor. I scoot my chair out to grab my knife, only to look up and notice Austin's hand on Lisa's knee. My head hits the table as I rush to straighten up—they didn't even try to hide it!
"What the hell is going on here?" I yell, standing up frustratedly.
"What's wrong, Mikey? Someone getting fussy?" Austin says with attitude and a smirk spread across his face. That smug look quickly vanishes when I take the opportunity to grab Austin by the scruff of his shirt and walk him to the front door.
"Michael! What are you doing?" Lisa questions angrily. I unlock the door and shove Austin out, slamming the door in his face before he gets the chance to say anything more.
"What the hell was that all about?" Lisa yells. I'm astonished at how she tries to play it cool as though nothing happened.
"Do you think that I didn't see what he was doing? He was touching you!" I yell. She runs upstairs and gets dressed.
"What are you doing?" I ask annoyed.
"I'm going to go apologize to Austin," she says angrily.
"Why?" I ask confused, I thought she was on my side.
"Because you didn't need to kick him out of the fucking door! Something has gotten into you— you're acting like...like an asshole," she says as she pushes past me and makes her way out of our bedroom. I look at her, completely astounded.
"What? You're going to go see him and apologize after he touched you?" I yell, completely astounded. I don't believe her. Something is going on behind my back, I can feel it. Why would Lisa want to go see my asshole of a brother?
Lisa leaves and I'm alone. I'm lying down on my couch, pondering. She's always seemed to jump at the thought of spending time with Austin. I look at the clock and see that she's been gone for about an hour now My stomach turns as I become suspicious. I quickly grab my phone and text her.
Me: "Hey babe, you've been gone for a while now. When are you coming home?"
*No answer*
Me: "Lisa?"
*No answer*
With this, I throw my phone onto my coffee table and rub my forehead frustratedly. A sudden urge drives my suspicion as I get up, grab my keys, and run to my car.
I drive as fast as I can to Austin's house and knock on the door. No one answers. My heart begins to race as I almost panic, wanting to discover nothing but the truth. In a fit of anger and desperation, I quickly kick open the door and call out Lisa's name, but no one replies. I look in all of the rooms, checking to see if the two of them are there, but see nothing on the first floor. I then head upstairs and hear moaning. I could recognize those moans anywhere. I kick open the bedroom door and I see Austin on top of Lisa.
They both look at me as Lisa says, "Oh fuck. Michael, it's not what it looks like!"
"What the fuck!?" I yell as I run into the room, pushing Austin off of Lisa and onto the floor. I begin punching him repeatedly, my fists wanting to cave his teeth in, but I'm thrown off guard as Lisa tries to stop me.
"Michael, get off of him!" She screams as she pulls on my arm.
"No! Why are you defending him?!" I yell angrily as I continue to punch Austin. The burning fire within me only becomes larger when Lisa suddenly slaps me.
Completely shock fills my body as I turn around to face her and do my best to contain myself as i say, "Get your clothes on, we're leaving!"
"No!" Lisa yells. I look at her in surprise and rage and I get close to her.
"You betrayed me!" I say angrily.
She starts to cry and says, "Michael, please, it's not what it looks like!"
"You liar!" I yell, my voice beginning to crack. "I'm done..." Before Lisa can say anything else, I run downstairs. Lisa follows after me, screaming my name. I head into my car and put the caar into drive before anything else happens, tears pooling in my eyes. Thoughts fill my head to the point where I can't even see straight.
How could she do this to me?
