I woke up to the sun blazing in through my bedroom window. I headed downstairs and saw my mom pouring syrup on a huge stack of pancakes with fruit littered around them.
"Good morning honey, I made pancakes for you and your sister!" My mom said excitedly.
I was a bit confused because mom barley makes breakfast for us, "Cool what's the occasion?" I asked.
My mom raised her eyebrows than said, "It's the first day of school Anna! How could you forget?"
Oh shit. I totally forgot that it was the first day of school.
"Good morning Adalyn!" Mom said as my sister, Adalyn, walked into the kitchen.
Adalyn smiled and saw me in my plaid pajama pants. "Geez girl, are you gonna change?"

30 minutes later, Adalyn was driving us to school. "So Anna, got any crushes?" Adalyn asked with a smirk on her face.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
Adalyn's grin only grew " How about Matthew," she flipped her curly blonde hair over her shoulder.
" I already told you we were friends in 6th grade and that's it!" I exclaimed loudly.
Adalyn and I didn't talk the rest of the ride to school.
When we arrived at school I practically sprinted out of her car over to Kiara. I jumped into her open arms and laughed, "I missed you so much Kiara!"
Kiara laughed and had to push me off of her, "We saw each other two days ago Anna!"
I laughed, "I still missed you in those two days we didn't see each other!"
She smiled, "Lets compare schedules."
"Who is your home room teacher?" I asked with concern.
"Ms. Brown how bout you?" She could tell by my slight frown that I didn't have Ms. Brown. "Oh well I'll see you at lunch break!"
As I headed to my first class I saw Matthew in the hall and he caught my eye for a second. I was surprised as to how my he had changed.
Although, the last time I saw him was 6th grade.
