Of fucking course.
Wasn't that just her luck.
Y/N had come to visit some friends in Florida and was staying at Autiana's place, and one evening while Autiana was out picking up Niko from the dog groomers, Y/N stumbled upon a room in the basement.
A somewhat hidden room, filled with things like crucifixes, wooden daggers, and knives and bullets made of silver. Plus, the place reeked of monsters and the pure, overpowering stench of it made Y/N's skin crawl.
Way to go, Y/N. She thought to herself . You're staying in the house of a Hunter. She quickly left the room and went back upstairs. She ran to the bathroom and splashed cold water in her face in an attempt to shake her nerves. She looked into the mirror.
Do you really want to run away though? Something inside her said. Wouldn't it be so much easier to just... die? Be done with it all? She shook her head.
No.
She took a few deep breaths and went into the living room to try and relax on the couch. She scrolled through her Twitter feed in an attempt to distract herself. It didn't work.
Soon, she heard Autiana's car pull into the driveway. She tensed as footsteps approached the front door but she forced himself to relax as Autiana opened the door and niko rushed in to greet her. She hadn't actually seen Niko yet since she'd arrived, and he rushed up to her. Y/N tensed again and growled involuntarily.
Niko backed off a little, unsure of what to make of her. She forced herself to relax yet again, and encouraged him to come closer. "C'mere boy." she said as Autiana finally entered the room, carrying a bag of dog-food.
"Hey, Y/N! Not bored to death yet?" Autiana asked.
Niko hesitantly approached Y/N and she let him sniff her hand.
"No, not yet. Phones are a great time consumer." Y/N replied.
"Too true." Autiana chuckled.
"Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's bad." Y/N nodded and Autiana put the dog-food into a cupboard in the kitchen which joined the living room. Niko finally relaxed and Y/N was scratching him behind the ears while he curiously sniffed her. Y/N leaned forward and whispered to him. "Sorry about that boy."
Autiana grabbed a can of pop out of the fridge. "Want one?" she asked.
"Sure." Autiana took a second can and tossed it to Y/N before sitting down across from her. Niko left and sat down in front of Autiana. His tail softly thumping on the floor as he tried to get her attention. Autiana gave her a few pats on the head. "Feeling shy today, boy?" Autiana said as she kissed him on the head. Then she looked up at Y/N.
"Did you have supper yet?" she asked.
"Yeah, I did." Y/N nodded.
"I grabbed a steak out of your freezer. Hope you don't mind..."
"Oh, no problem." Autiana replied.
From there, they carried on with small-talk for an hour or so until it was about 8:30 when Autiana announced that she'd be heading off to bed a little early today.
"I think I'll hit the sack now as well." Y/N said.
"Alrighty, sounds good." Autiana said as she got up.
"Oh, and could you turn off the hallway lights up there by your room?"
"Will do." Y/N replied.
Autiana nodded and they both went their separate ways to go to bed. Honestly, Y/N was just glad to get away from the horrible stench that drifted off of Autiana's clothes.
Distressed vampire.
A vampire that Autiana had probably killed while she was out. Whoever they were probably deserved it, though. Most monsters were... well, monsters. Y/N, sadly enough, included herself in that count.
