Willow's POV
Now as you can see I have a thing for running. Any problem I've ever faced led to me running away from it. That was just my natural response. So here I was trying to escape these people for what seemed like the thousandth time. Although this time I was better prepared. I didn't have blood dripping from my hands and I certainly wasn't tired. I had vans on so they were fairly decent running shoes and my clothes were comfortable enough. But, here is the thing about running. You usually run when you don't know what to do or where to go. I had made it out the door and I was already in the woods that I ran in just a little bit ago.
As I ran my mind began to start to process everything that had happened. The scary part was that I didn't doubt what that little boy said. He had no reason to lie and it all made sense.
Why was Grayson so eager for me to go with him?
Why did he introduce me?
Why did he care?
He was my mate. I knew it but I didn't want to accept it. I have read about what they can do and believe me I would like not to be the main entree.
So the real reason why I was running?
I was scared, nervous, doubtful, unsure, but most of all worried. Worried he wouldn't like me or his pack wouldn't like me. I didn't have a problem with the idea of him being a werewolf but I was scared he wouldn't accept me as his mate. I'm a human and by werewolf law, humans do not mate with werewolf's. I knew that. I just didn't want to feel the hurt and the pain.
So let me get back to running.
I am a great runner but to be honest with you distance is not my thing. I had to have been running for at least an hour. I knew I had to rest but I was worried about someone catching me. I found a large, tall tree with sturdy branches and I started climbing it. Up and up and up I went. I was at least thirty feet off the ground when I stopped climbing. I swung my legs over the branch and squeezed my hands around a nearby branch to steady myself. Now I heard someone coming. I tried to slow my breathing but my heat was pounding in my chest. I closed my eyes as he started to slow down. I opened them to see Grayson sniffing around.
"Willow?"
"Willow?"
"I know your here. Please I need to talk to you."
I was silent.
"Willow I won't hurt you I promise."
And then he looked up. My pulse started racing.
"Willow I need you to calm down and climb down. I will stay here until you do."
I stayed silent and decided to wait a while. One, ten, thirty minutes passed. I realized he wasn't kidding and I should probably come down before he comes and gets me.
I was just a jump away from hitting the ground now. I bent my knees and jumped off the low branch falling to the ground. He extended his hand in which I took. The second I placed my hand in his sparks started shooting up my arm. He pulled me up off the ground.
"Willow, let me explain."
"No, you don't have to. I know what you are and it doesn't scare me as long as you don't kill. Werewolf's do unspeakable things."
"Willow, I promise I have not killed anyone ever. I never would. Rouges do those things, not us."
"I Grayson Pierce..."
"NO!"
"No please don't"
"Don't what?"
"Reject me..."
"Willow I wouldn't. I Grayson Pierce accept Willow..."
"Griffin"
"I Grayson Pierce accept Willow Griffin as my mate."
