Aideen tried any way she could think of to make the time until her next meeting with Kevin go by faster. She wanted to tell him her decision as soon as possible and found it sweet torture to wait. So, she went over wedding plans with her mother, went for walks and rides with Samantha, and spent more time with her brothers than she had in months.

Her father was right, poor Mitchell was terrified now. He so feared something happening to his parents that he spent most of his time in their room, hovering over his father. But after a few days, the king was able to move around again and Mitch relaxed considerably.

At last, the day arrived that Aideen had so longed for. She made her excuses to her mother and father and took off into the forest. She practically ran down the path, as she was so anxious to speak to her knight. Aideen made it to the clearing breathlessly and began to search for Kevin.

 "Hello, Beautiful."

"Kevin!" Aideen cried out as she ran toward him, arms outstretched.

Unfortunately, she did not see the branch that was in her way, only a few feet away from him. Her foot caught and she went sprawling into Kevin's arms.

She looked up to find him fighting laughter as he held her.

"Were you really that anxious to see me, Darling? You do not usually simply throw yourself at me in such a way. Or are you becoming a woman of loose morals?" Kevin teased with a glint in his eye.

"Oh, Kevin!" Aideen laughed, "You know full well that that was an accident!"

"Do I now?" He tilted his head back as if deep in thought. "Hmmm, no, I do not believe that I do!"

"Kevin, would you please let me up?" Aideen asked as she worked at controlling her laughter.

"Well now, my dear, I am not sure how I feel about that. You see, I rather like this."

 "Please?"

*Sigh* "I suppose, since you said please."

Kevin lifted her up so that her feet were, once again, planted on the ground. His arms, however, stayed firmly around her.

 "Is this better, my dear?"

"Yes, much!" Aideen wrapped her arms around his waist and gave him a big grin. "Now I can hug you, as well."

Kevin squeezed her tight, then rested his chin upon her head.

"Ah, I see. Yes, this is extremely nice. I must admit, I rather like this." He said, a smile in his voice.

"You see? It would do you well to listen to me more often!"

"Ha! It would be advisable for you to keep such thoughts to yourself, Darling. People may think you have begun to lose your mind!"

That response got him a sharp poke in the ribs.

Their laughter echoed through the forest as they stood in each others arms. As it died away, all became still. Perfectly still.

Kevin ran his fingers through her hair and sighed. "I am so glad you decided to come here today, my Love," He spoke in a soft voice. "I was not at all sure you would."

Aideen lifted her head from his chest to stare at him. "Why ever would you wonder whether or not I would come?"

Kevin shrugged as he studied the trees surrounding them, avoiding her gaze. "I, well, I thought you might be done with me now."

Aideen's heart clenched as she watched the man she loved. He looked so miserable and unsure. And she had the power to fix that.

 She smiled.

"Kevin," she said softly, "I am not nearly done with you yet." Suddenly feeling shy, she looked to the ground but then forced herself to meet his hopeful gaze. "In fact, I believe our story is only beginning."

"What are you saying?" Kevin whispered.

"I accept your hand, Sir Knight," Aideen replied shakily. "I will be your wife."

For I know the plans I have for you....

The words filled her head like a long ago whisper.

Plans to prosper you and not to harm you...

"Oh, my Love!" Kevin laughed as he grabbed her by the waist and swung her around and around. "You have just made me the happiest man on earth!"

Aideen returned his smile and tilted her head up to accept his kiss.

Plans to give you hope and a future...

Aideen clung to Kevin as he hugged her and buried her head in his shoulder.

Surely this was God's plan for her life. He would want her to be with the man she loved.

 Right?
