Oh, the bird outside
fluttering ethereal
Oh, I am inside
gazing out,
to the forest of skyscrapers.
"It's dangerous outside." Mother says.
"Just stay here where you are safe." Father says.
They are indoctrinating me, yes.
But I dare not challenge.
Just glance out,
in mist of bulky blocks flew that bird
fugaciously wandering
to wherever it desires.
Oh, the bird outside,
next time,
bring me across seas and fields,
over and over the planet.

Everyday thoughts
PoetryHere, I will write a poem everyday relating to my mood, thoughts, and life events of the day. It explores the most powerful feelings; love, loneliness, hope, fear, etc. This is simple yet thought-provoking.
