Chapter 3

Blu had been at her mother's house for two days and was glad that her relator had called her earlier that morning to tell her they found a house for rent and it her price range. She loved being under her siblings, but she missed her peace. Blu heard a knock on the door and ran to it dressed in her boy shorts and tank top with her bunny house shoes on her feet. She had her hair pulled up in a messy bun and her face mask on for her morning cleaning. When she opened the door, she came face to face with Wood who smiled at Blu as soon as she opened the door.

"Oh my God, what are you doing here? She asked as she hid behind the door because she wasn't prepared for him to see her like that.

"Shawty open the door, I don't care you got that bullshit on yo face. Let me in so I can talk to you."

Blu was hesitant on letting Wood in, but she did anyway. She excused herself and ran to the bathroom to wash her face. She couldn't believe her remember where she stayed. Blu talked to herself before she went back into the living room. Her heart dropped when she noticed Rochelle sitting in her favorite chair talking with Wood.

"I told your friend here you got a man so he shouldn't be here." Rochelle said as she crossed her leg smoking her cigarette.

"What the fuck Ma? Get out my business. You don't even know the story." Blu said to her mom.

"You in my house so it is my business miss. Prissy."

Blu rolled her eyes, she wanted to go off on her mom, but she didn't want to disrespect her. She grabbed Wood's hand and lead him to the room she's been sharing with her sister.

"Don't listen to her she don't know what she's talking about." Blu said once she closed the room door behind them.

"So, you single? For real? I remember you being in love with that Lil Tim nigga. I ran into him a few times in the streets, nigga corny."

"Anyway, what you out here early for?" She asked him to take the subject off her life. She wasn't ready to talk about Lil Tim or the pain he caused.

"I came to take you to breakfast. It's been two days since we last chilled, and I wanted to catch up since I'm free until the afternoon."

"Free from what? That crazy ass Ex that almost claw her way into your truck?" Blu mentioned while laughing.

Blu went into her duffle bag and grabbed her outfit for the day she had a whole day plan around her accepting this rental property and moving in immediately. She couldn't stay under Rochelle another minute and plus she missed her own space. She gave Wood the remote to turn the tv on so she could go get dressed. Thirty minutes later and Blu was ready to go get breakfast. She applied just a soft amount of make up on her face and brushed her long hair into a sleek ponytail. Blu looked into the floor length mirror to make sure she looked good enough in her Fashion Nova maxi dress and matching slides.

"Okay, I'm ready now." She said to him as she looked at him and he smiled at her...

"Bout time, I just knew we wouldn't be leaving for another two hours." Wood Joked as he got up from the bed.

"Let me open the door for you." Wood told Blu.

Blu thanked him when she got into her truck even though he was treating her to breakfast she wanted to have her own vehicle to handle her business afterwards. She waited until Wood gave her the okay to follow him to the restaurant. Blu looked down at her ringing phone she had been ignoring Lil Tim since she left him. She wasn't in the mood to argue with him, and she didn't want to listen to his lies. Blu was tired of him and how he treated her all the money in the world wouldn't make her go back to him again. She needed to keep her distance and continue to move forward with her move she's making. Blu was ready to start back working and getting out and enjoying her life she missed some of her old friends she had made when she was younger. Wood finally came to a stop, and she parked right next to him. she got out the truck and stood to the side while she waited om him to finish his phone call.
