Lady Miaka, having taken up the responsibility... of being the Priestess of Suzaku... found her heart strongly attracted by the kindness of Tamahome.
Lady Yona, reveals herself as a phoenix spirit to serve and protect the Priestess of Suzaku. She's closing her heart to avoid attachments but somehow is a close friend of Tamahome. Meanwhile, the emperor Hotohori... confessed his love and proposed to her.
Lady Yona ran off and confessed to the warrior eagle spirit, Sora, her feelings. Both spirits sense Lady Miaka's life is in danger... Lady Miaka then suddenly fell ill.

The Suzaku warriors, Yona and Sora in small form are watching Miaka. "Miaka..." The black-haired girl whispered her name worriedly.
"I'm sorry, Yona. I was with her, but..." Tamahome explained but cuts off by Yona's stern look.
"What the fuck just happened in the city?" Yona asked coldly and clenching her hands.
"Yona, temper." Sora comforted the black-haired girl. "Violence isn't the answer." She's always known to be hot-tempered just like their friend Natsu.
Yona exhales softly and calms herself down. "She was looking for you and I pointed in the direction where you guys left. What exactly happened before we sense her life force spike in danger."
Tamahome looks down at the floor. "All I did was save her from some gangsters. That's all." He never revealed the last part of Miaka's love confession to him. The teal-haired boy knew Yona isn't a fool because she knew Miaka very well and kept her mouth shut.
"Highness." The physician called the emperor. "The priestess is suffering from exhaustion. Being the Priestess of Suzaku... is putting a great strain on her. The extreme exertion has made her ill in both body and spirit. She will recover physically, but as to her spirit. Well..."
"It would take time to heal." Yona cuts him off while watching Miaka with a worried look. "It would be impossible for the physician to cure her." The physician nodded his head with a grim look on his face.
"Not even your healing magic, Yona?" Hotohori asked the black-haired girl curiously. He remembered Yona's previous demonstrations with her magic.
She shook her head. "I can only heal myself and if I put my flames on her... I can burn her alive." Yona explained since her magic is still sealed most of it.
"Yona can only heal herself and other flame creatures who are immune to fires." Sora explained Yona's magic. "Since Miaka is human and the chances of healing her will end up burning." They shivered at the thought and quickly dismissed the suggestion. They preferred to have their priestess alive than burn her.
They heard Miaka groan weakly. "M-mom... big brother... Yona... Estelle-san..." She muttered weakly and the black-haired girl flinched.
"Do you want to go back?" Tamahome asked with a surprised look on his face.
