I wanted him gone.
I needed him gone.
Everything he had was supposed to be mine.
I had to act on it.
I've made up so many scenarios of it going down.
And it finally came.
Ezra Carter fucking Astor.
He was going on some sort of business trip for Dad. Of course, Dad didn't send me. I'm capable of doing everything Ezra could, I can do it even better. I'm older. I'm more efficient when it comes to working. I never act out. Everything Dad tells me to do, I do.
Ezra doesn't respect Dad, Ezra does everything on his own accord, Ezra doesn't show up to public events, Ezra doesn't show mercy to anyone.
Yet Ezra gets everything served to him; college, status, job position, women, or money.
I had less than 24 hours to plan everything out. He was leaving to Bronte, a small island. I hired some money-hungry low-life to execute the plan. The plan was simple.
Knock Ezra out, leave his body on the boat, and set the boat on fire.
News broke out about the only heir of The Atticus Corporation who died in a boating accident. Dad was devastated and so was Natasha, his mother. Fortunately, I was the one who comforted them. I stepped up to my rightful place.
I arranged the funeral plans.
No one wanted to see pictures of the accident, good for me.
I acted like I was in denial. I cried, I drank, and I received pity. They didn't know that I did those things out of pure joy.

Ezra (Carter)
It's been three days since Grandma Lori offered to take me in. Astrid practically lives at the hospital with her father, they get visitors every day. She visits me throughout the day, sometimes bringing me food or showing me videos she thought were funny.
Astrid was easy to talk to, she made me feel comfortable and showed her emotions. If I teased her, she would roll her eyes or mock me, or if she brings up something that I forgot, she takes the time to help me remember. I knew she was someone I would never have come across from my "old life".
"Ok, Carter. Do you remember what your size is?" She's been trying to find me a 'style' for the past hour. The only clothing I had was what I arrived in the hospital with, which was soiled with blood. My other belongings included my rings, a watch, and loafers.
"I don't know the exact measurements but it's pretty big." She looked at me confused, with those big amber eyes. I watched as her face transforms from confused to shock, realizing that my answer had a double meaning.
"I'm a skeptic, I need visual evidence," I smirked at her boldness, I opened my mouth to reply back but she cuts me off.
" For real Carter, I need to get you clothes before you get discharged." She motioned for me to face her and ordered me to try on different shirts so she could get the right size. I came in and out of the bathroom for an hour before she finally lets me be.
" I'll work at the hotel to repay you guys." I've been thinking about the whole arrangement and it was only right if I repaid them in some form. I didn't want to be a free-loader.
She rolled her eyes, " Mr. Carter, you have a Piaget watch and your shoes are designer, I'm pretty sure you know nothing about being a receptionist or a bellman."
