Knock knock knock
Lily glanced towards the door from the bed where she sat toweling her hair. She dropped the towel on the dresser as she padded over to the door in nothing but her underwear and Drake's discarded denim shirt. Swinging it open she smiled coyly at Hana who ran her wide eyes over her friend before rushing in. Lily glanced out in the hall to make sure Hana wasn't seen going into Drake's room then closed the door behind her and grinned.
"Thanks for coming so fast."
Hana's mouth fell open in a shocked grin, "Don't say it like that. Here, I grabbed a shirt, shorts and tennis shoes."
She held a bag out to Lily and looked around the room, a blush rising as her eyes fell to the discarded dress on the floor next to the disheveled bed.
"Do you think you can fix that?" Lily asked, picking the dress up and showing her the broken zipper, "Heh, he got a little carried away."
Hana grabbed the dress and examined it while Lily shimmied the shorts on and sat cross legged on the edge of the bed, "Sit Hana."Hana's eyes ran over the disrupted sheets and she scrunched her nose shaking her head, "I'd rather not."
"We were on this side," Lily patted the side to her left, "sit over here and you'll be okay."
Hana hesitantly sat on her right side and looked back down at the dress in her hands, "I should be able to fix it. It only needs a new zipper, luckily he didn't destroy the fabric."
"Great." Lily sighed flopping back on the bed, unable to keep the grin from her face.
"So, you guys really did it. In a hotel no less." Hana giggled, setting the dress beside her.
"Yep. I had settled on the idea of being in the Palace, but he said he couldn't wait any longer."
"Tell me everything! From the top, start with what happened with Liam then move on to the more pleasant things."Lily sat up and turned to face her as she recounted everything that happened from the time she separated from the group. Hana listened intently, fanning herself or blushing wildly at certain parts of the retell. Lily tried not to be too graphic, but with the memories still fresh on her mind it was hard not to get too carried away, she played with the ends of her hair to occupy her hands.
"Wow." Hana whispered after the story was finished, "So how do you feel?"
"Satisfied." Lily giggled.
"And about things with Liam? How do you think it's going between them now?"
Lily frowned and chewed her lip, dropping her eyes. "I dunno. Liam really cold shouldered me so I don't know what could be going through his mind right now..."
"You can't blame him for being upset." Hana said softly.
"I don't, Hana. I just wish I didn't have to fear him, is all."
"He didn't banish you, that's a plus.""He hasn't yet, but there's still time. He might wait until we get back to Cordonia just for the satisfaction of actually kicking us out." She hissed, "Or get mad about something else and use this against us or one of us."
"Do you really think he would be capable of that?"
Lily lifted her eyes to Hana's and shrugged, "I don't know. We hurt him badly, and I don't know how or even if Drake can fix this. I tried to get him to wait until morning, but he wanted to talk to him now."
"It'll be okay." Hana wrapped a consoling arm around her shoulders, "You and Drake will figure it all out. I bet a few months from now we'll all be together like a happy family and laugh at all these big angry feelings."
"Maybe years..."Lily leaned against her friend and dropped her eyes to her fingers that plucked at the buttons of the denim shirt that dwarfed her. She opened her mouth to say something else but the door flew open cutting her off. The women looked in surprise as Drake shuffled in, his head down with an arm cradled to his stomach, blood bright against his white shirt.
"Drake!" Lily gasped jumping up, he lifted his head to look at her as he made his way to the bathroom, "What happened?"
"I'm fine." He grumbled dropping his eyes. Why did he look like he just got mugged when he was supposed to be right outside with Liam and Bastien, Bastien who wouldn't let someone attack him like that. Right? Bastien wouldn't let someone hurt Drake like this, unless he was ordered not to. Her blood ran cold at the realization of what had to have happened when Drake went to talk to his king. Liam hurt him, attacked him, after she pleaded with him not to. Did she cause this? Did she put those thoughts in Liam's head to begin with?
