Dominus woke up early the next morning, the excitement of tagging along with Bumblebee on a ride along getting the better of him.
He had hoped that his training was paying off for today. While he was scowled time to time for "jumping the gun" as his mother would say, he just couldn't help it. He was so eager to get into a fight and since he was so excited he had very little patience as he stood looking out on his balcony, waiting and waiting as the seconds ticked by.
And that made him worry. What if he wasn't ready for this? He knew it himself that his eagerness has gotten the better of him from time to time. But he thought to himself if his parents allowed him to tag along with Bumblebee, then he must have been doing something right.
But he just couldn't help but think of all the negatives.
There was a knock at his door as three figures entered the room. Aura and Smokescreen were present, but there was a new mech. He was tall and slightly robust, had a blue and red colour scheme with a hook for his right hand.
Dominus turned around, his optics brightening. "Uncle Ultra!"
"Dominus." He smiled.
Dominus ran over to the older mech, hugging him as the commander returned the gesture.
"Are you excited?" He asked.
"Today is the big day." Smokescreen grinned.
"Yeah, I'm excited! But..." What before was smiling slowly turned into a frown as he lowered his helm, backing away from his uncle.
"But?" Aura asked with concern, cupping her son's chin gently.
"It's nothing..." Dominus shook it off, turning away.
"It's okay Dominus, you can talk to us." Smokescreen assured.
Dominus stopped in his tracks, standing under the arch that lead off to the balcony of his room. He turned back around to look at his family, venting as he closed his optics before opening his mouth again.
"It isn't that I'm ungrateful for all the things that I've earned... For all the jounreys that I have taken, all the lessons that I have learned..." Dominus began. "But I wonder where I'm going now, what my role is mean't to be. I don't know how to travel. To a future that I can't see."
Dominus walked back towards his family who all three displayed sympathetic and concerned looks on their face plates. All three of them stayed quiet as he neared them, hearing what he had to say.
"I have this symbol, I wear this crown..." He gestured to the Autobot insignia on his chest and the crown on his head. "I'm a prince, yes, this is true. But it's still unclear to me, just what I am mean't to do."
He glanced over at his parents, his optics filling with a sense of pleading. "I want to have a purpose, I want to do all that I can. I want to make a contribution, I want to be a part of the plan."
Once he was finished, he hung his head as we walked back over to the balcony, leaning his arms against the railing.
The three older Cybertronians looked at each other, worry consuming them. But Aura sighed, forming her lips into a small smile as she was the first to step forward, walking towards her son as Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus followed her towards the arch then stopped, letting her speak with him first.
Aura walked to Dominus' right, placing a hand on his shoulder, catching his attention. "Your destiny is uncertain. And that's sometimes hard to take. But it will become much clearer, with every new choice you make."
