"Don't worry, I promise." - Kugie x Sara Fluff

[First time meeting]

It's Monday, around 8:30 AM.
"This class is so boring.. what time is it?" she thought to herself while looking up at the clock in the classroom. "No way.. It's still an hour before break starts?" She sighed, thinking about many random things to hopefully pass the time quickly. "I wonder what Joe and Ryoko are doing.."

An hour passes, and it's finally break time. Sara is on her way to the cafeteria, expecting her two best friends to already be there. Listening in on the conversation like some third wheel would make her feel annoyed and embarrassed since she herself hasn't ever been on a date before, but she was happy for them. And anyways, wasn't she the one who introduced the both of them to each other? Continuing the story.

Sara is walking down the hallway, still on her way to the cafeteria, as she hears people talking about a specific topic.

"Oh my god, did you see the new girl? She's so cute!"
"Right? I wish I looked like her!"
"Seriously? You guys are completely overreacting. She looks average as hell."
"Be quiet, Svea. You're probably jealous."
"Huh?! I'm not jealous, I'm just being honest!!"
"Svea has a point, I'll admit she's pretty, but she's still very average-looking."
"See that? Lou agrees with me!"
"Are you guys seriously only interested in her looks..?"
"W-Well, we haven't tried talking to her, have we? Isn't that the only thing we can judge her by anyways in that case?"

..Aaand so on. She's never been the type to suddenly approach people and quickly make friends with them, but this new girl piqued even her interest. Nothing exciting had been happening at school lately, so could you really blame her? Sara wasn't ready to directly talk to her, but she at least wanted to see what she looked like. "Looking around the entire school just to find her won't do, and I don't even have all the time in the world for that.. Maybe she'll be at the cafeteria?"

Having reached the cafeteria at last, probably being late because she stopped walking just to listen in on some student's conversation about the new girl, she was about to enter the room in front of her when—

"...! Uh- Sorry. I didn't see you there, haha.. I'm kind of in a hurry, so—" the girl stopped talking right in the middle of her sentence, as if she didn't know what to say next and felt really awkward in this particular situation.

Sara remained silent. She felt the same way, as this sort of stuff mostly happens in romance movies or fan fictions.. Coming back to her senses, she spoke. "Uhm.. It's fine, here, let me help you-" reaching out her hand and showing an awkward but genuine smile, she helped the girl get back on her feet.

It took her a moment to realize what she was doing. She usually wasn't like this to others, especially to people she didn't know. So why..?

"Thanks, uh-"
"Sara. Sara Chidouin.."
"Right, Chidouin. I'm Kugie Kizuchi. Well.. Sorry, but I gotta go! I'm in a hurry, you see.."
"Ah, it's fine, really.. Take care."
"Yeah.. See you?"

Sara didn't respond, slightly lost in thought. When she got a grasp of the situation again, Kugie had already left. "Was that.. the new girl they were talking about? I'm pretty sure I haven't seen her before." she muttered to herself, afterwards entering the cafeteria to find a very curious Joe and an extremely confused Ryoko.
