~1989. At 23 years old, Corinne Scheben is many things. Among them, she's a master of high octane coffee brewing, a "semi-starving" artist dreaming of better days, and - somehow - a hang-around of up-and-coming industrial rock act Nine Inch Nails. The day that Trent Reznor starts bringing around Rich Patrick, a skinny local punk kid with an intense haircut and even more intense eyes, it barely even registers on Cory's radar - or so it's supposed to. As it turns out, he makes quite the impression on her - and Cory finds herself falling for the guitarist harder and faster than she would've thought possible for her.~
