Sorry for Saying Goodbye

Everything has an end

And sometimes they don't mend

A message I wasn't meant to send

A rule I wasn't meant to bend

I'm sorry for saying goodbye

You, in your foreign land

With you hot sun and white sand

While you're out getting tanned

Remember me in England

Are you sorry for saying goodbye

I guess to my heart I must be true

I wish you knew I love you too

You are old yet you are new

You're not the guy I though I knew

I'm sorry for saying goodbye

Once I'd said goodbye

I thought I should lay down and die

But someone said I should at least try

To spread my wings and learn to fly

I'm sorry for saying goodbye

I wrote this while thinking of two special people I let go. Sorry Lewis and Mark.
