As we pulled up to my grandmas house regret took over me I don't know why I came. It's gonna be awkward as hell.
Kentrell: you going in or what
Me: yeah I said hesitantly getting out the car, then stopped and turned around. "Ain't you coming"
Kentrell: nah I'm waiting here so hurry the fuck up. Making a nigga lonely and shit he mumbled.
As I walked up the steps my heart raced me, I really don't know what to say to her. I slowly pushed the button then about 15 seconds later the door opened.
Grandma: Liyah... Liyah is that you baby
Me: yes ma I said then she grabbed me and held me tight.
Grandma: I missed you baby where have you been she said turning around "ain't you coming in?"
Me: no I ain't stopping today I just wanted to come visit.
Grandma: thank you for visiting I missed you I ain't think I was gone see you again-
Me: grandma did you know my dad wasn't dead I said cutting her off I couldn't hold it in any longer.
Grandma: uh- ... hm. Darling when I found out your mother told me if I told you I wouldn't be able to see you, then everything went downhill her boyfriend threatened me and when I tried to get custody I failed.
Me: oh... I said still in shock

Grandma: gurlllll you got a man, I can't wait to catch up on all the tea when you coming to see me again
Me: I'm staying here for about 4 days but Ill come back, before I go home I'll try visit again. Let's swap numbers. I said reaching for my phone
We swapped numbers hugged and said are goodbyes, me and my grandmas relationship was tight so am not surprise we picked it straight back up.
Kentrell: you happy as hell Kentrell said smiling at me while I got in the car.
Me: imagine I didn't come see her I would be mad as fuck right now, I love my grandma so much she such a cool person
Kentrell: you lucky I miss my grandma he said as his face softened
Me: sorry baby, I'm sure she would've been proud of you I said turning his face to me
Kentrell: mh gimme kiss he said smiling. I pecked his lips then he pulled off.
Me: what we doing now.

Me: New York
Kentrell: that's like 4 hours away
Me: actually it's 53 minutes you being extra
Kentrell: am gone get a house there for us to stay in
Me: ok I replied then he made a few phone calls then pulled of and started driving.
We quickly went to the house we was staying at and packed are stuff into the car.
8:28 pm
We got back in the car. He connected his phone to the aux costs and played me Hennessy and you.

Kentrell: nah this my shit, fuck you know bout this... can we stay home tonight.
Me: try something new tonight

We played more songs on the way the drive was so calming the energy in the car was so heart warming i didn't want this to stop.
I fell asleep for no longer than 10 minutes then he woke me up telling me we were there.
It was 9:44 pm. We walked in th house bringing in are suitcases.
Me: let's lay down I'm tired I said walking up the stairs making him follow behind.
Kentrell: how you tired already you don't wanna go out or sum he said snaking his arms behind me as we walked into the bedroom.
Me: bro this day was long as hell but I am hungry I said then he was staring dead at me with a mug on his face. " bro...what did I do now"
Kentrell: say stop calling me bro. I look like yo fucking bruda? he said laying down pulling out his phone.
Me: it's never that deep babe but ok we move I laid next to him waiting for him to speak but he didn't, is this nigga really mad at me. "bae..." no reply. " kentrell..." no reply. " Ight" I said then got up and left the room closing then door behind me.
I went downstairs grabbed me bags then brought them to the other room, I was still hungry and there was a food shop I used to go to with my ex. We lived in the Bronx but he had family down here so i traveled down here with him a lot. This was are favorite shop.
I threw on a tracksuit then grabbed my phone money and keys.
I closed the door quietly so I didn't have to hear kentrell's foolishness. It was only a 7 minute walk to the shop.
Walking to the shop so many memories flooded my mind. I pulled out my phone scrolling through tiktok to waist time I heard a group of people talking but I didn't have time to look at them.
Stepping into the shop somebody pulled me back by my arm making me turn around I thought it was kentrell but it wasn't it was my... ________________________________
