I woke up to Prince shaking me a little. "Astrid, wake up." My eyes opened and he was looking at me. He was wearing the button up he wore and jeans. "Hey, come down to the trail with me." I sat up feeling my nipples harden in the cold air. "What time is it?" "Right before sunrise. C'mon." I pulled on the closest set of clothes I could find before following Prince. He was holding my hand. "Hmm. This better be good, Prince." He nodded. "It is. I promise." My fingers were locked and I could hear music from a radio. "Prince?" He smirked and I could see a little trail of candles. "Aw. This is cute." I said to him.

There was a radio in the middle of the trail. "Oh, be careful. I peed around the perimeter." He said. I stopped. "Why?" "To keep the bears away of course." Prince said. I blinked. "Prince...urine attracts bears." He leaned down to turn the radio up. "Oh...anyway." I giggled. "Jesus, I hope there aren't any bears out here." He took my hands pulling me close to him. "There probably are, but who knows. Just dance with me." I slipped my arms around his neck slow dancing with him. "Okay, this is pretty nice. Listening to Joni Mitchell while slow dancing." I whispered.

I placed my hand on the back of his head nuzzling my nose against his cheek. "I'm nervous." I said to him. "Why are you nervous?" "My parents. I'm going to have to go back home at some point." I said to him. He stopped moving with me and stroked my hair back. "That's not now. That's later. What matters now is...well, now. We can worry about that much later." Prince kissed between my eyes. "I'm not afraid of your dad. Even if he burned you and hurt you you shouldn't be afraid of him. Your dad is a coward for hurting you like that." My nose began to burn, but I didn't want to cry. This wasn't a moment to cry.

I stroked his cheek over and over to keep myself calm. Prince held me close and stroked my hair. "We can talk to him together. I'll be there with you when you decide you're ready to go back home. I won't let you do this alone." I sucked in a breath to sob. "I'm sorry." I said. Prince shook his head. "Don't be sorry. It's okay. Do you wanna go back to the tent?" I heard leaves crumbling in the woods and turned my head to see what the noise was but there was nothing there. "Probably just a bat." He said kissing my cheek. "Trae will be waking up soon and probably wondering where we are. He gets up at five every day and goes for a run." Prince shook his head. "Trust me I know. Maybe Sophie knocked him on his ass." We started blowing out the candles and he turned off the radio carrying it.

The rustling in the trees got rougher and I grabbed his arm. Prince laughed. "Trust me baby there ain't any bears out at this time of day. It's morning and it's cold." "I swear Prince if I die in these woods I'm coming back to haunt you." He rolled his eyes. "Why did you make a perimeter of piss?" I asked. "I thought it would ward off bears. That's what Trae told me." I smiled. "Trae helped you plan this?" He nodded. "Of course he did. He even got these candles for me. I had this planned." The rustling happened again and I grabbed his arm tighter. "We're almost back to the tent." "A bear can take down a tent, Prince."

We made it back to the camp and Lisa was awake smoking a cigarette by the fire. "Back already?" She asked. I nodded. "Any idea where Trae is?" I asked her. "Oh, he and Sophie when off into the woods. They kept me up all night." Prince snickered unzipping the tent and I sat around the fire with her. "I guess Wendy is still asleep from it?" I asked. "Yup. Slept through their obnoxiously loud fucking." Prince came and sat beside us. "Astrid and I might be going back early. We've got some stuff to take care of." Prince was pulling out stuff out of the tent and Trae and Sophie were walking into camp. Trae was limping.

"What happened to you?" Lisa asked him. He was rubbing his asscheek. "I got stung by a bee." Prince snickered and I did, too. "It's not funny guys! That shit hurt!" "You shouldn't be having your ass out in the forrest, Trae." Prince said to him. I stood up and took my bag of things. "Man, fuck y'all. I just sat down." "Mmhmm. Anyways, let's go Astrid." I smiled and Prince grabbed the keys from Trae as we walked to the Datsun. I got in the passenger and Prince put our things in the back seat. "Ugh. It smells like ass in here." I said to Prince as he got in and sniffed. He wrinkled his nose and rolled down the window. "Trae! Did you fuck in my car last night?" Trae turned around from the conversation he was having with Sophie and Lisa. "...No." "Then why does my car smell like ass?"
