"Best B-side Track of The Year Award goes to...BTS - BLUE & GREY!" I announced. Yes, me. I'm part of the group Blackpink, but my company YG Entertainment decided to accept the offer to recruit me as emcee for the SBS Inkigayo award show. I didn't really mind because I could take a break from modelling clothes and I could meet the idols backstage. Besides, today's my last day, meaning a long PUBG session when I get back to the dorm.
The award-winning group BTS came up and I hurried to talk. "V-ssi, I know you are the author of this song, can you please describe your motivation to compose it?"
"Of course. I wrote "Blue & Grey" during my hardest times. It was a time when I debated on whether or not I should continue this career. It seemed difficult to enjoy work and the road I was on seemed meaningless. It felt like I was in a tunnel and I couldn't see the exit. I think it's correct to say that I couldn't see the path that I was supposed to be on." The member replied and Blue & Grey played softly in the background.
"How touching! Now-" I read from the script.
"You don't mean it, right? No offense though, " V interrupted. I gasped, taken by surprise. No one had dared interrupted me after I made my debut- I was the oldest in Blackpink and the staff in the company respected me.
"Umm sorry V-ssi. I meant to say..." My words were drowned by the sound of the crowd of Blinks and Armys cheering. I looked behind me and found V hitting his members playfully. The disrespect... I thought. I still smiled and cleared my throat for attention, then V smiled at me and I looked away quickly. "Yes, I meant to say it's time for the announcement for the last award today : best edited music video of the year." I quickly peered at my script. "Twice - I Can't Stop Me!" BTS stepped off the left side of stage and I said, " Excuse me but the exit is this side," They hurried back and Twice entered. In the process Jimin tripped over V and V fell onto Suga and a human pyramid was made...? I extended my hand to help them up and I could hear fans screaming "TAESOO! TAESOO! TAESOO!" as V took my hand to pull himself up. Twice stood awkwardly at the side and I ushered them to center stage.
"Were there any particularly memorable moments while filming the MV?" I questioned. "Yes! In fact, our outfits are the best part of it all. Thank you to all our amazing stylists and Once, please wait for our next comeback because we have many more to show to you guys!" Tzuyu said. "Thank you Tzuyu! Now it's the closing ceremony for today and sadly I will not be coming again next week as my contract ends today! Nyeong-an Blinks!" The black and pink lightsticks in the crowd waved goodbye to me as I strolled backstage.
I put on a mask and followed my manager to the car while whistling. "Jisoo, what tune is that? I haven't heard it before, but it seems familiar, " my manager asked. "Sorry, I didn't really notice what I was whistling. Can you please hum it to me?" "Sure." he replied. He hummed out the melody and lyrics formed in my head.

"Oh! That's BTS's Blue & Grey from just now, the one that won B-side Track of the Year, " I said. "Oh, no wonder it sounded so familiar, " the manager replied. "The lyrics are so pretty, whoever wrote it must be extremely depressed to write something like this, " I remarked. "V-ssi wrote it, you forgot so fast?" he teased. "Jinja!? Wow my memory is really short. I must be getting old, " I exclaimed. "Let me look him up, I really need to listen to his songs, " I added. The manager chuckled and I started Googling "Kim Taehyung". I clicked on "Images" and my breath got taken away. "Manager-nim, is this photo a fan edit? Because I don't remember doing this with him," I said, pointing to a picture of V and I sitting together in a tea shop. "Of course it is. Technology's developed these days, you know, " he said. "But why do they put me with him?" I questioned further. "Actually, Taesoo is a popular ship nowadays, and fans want to pair the visuals of the two groups together," he answered and I snorted in disgust.
When we reached the YG building the car stopped and my manager opened the door. "CEO wants to see you," he said. "And knowing YG sunbaenim, I don't think it's something good," he added when I gave him a curious look. My shoulders immediately slumped. Why did I even expect anything good from YG? He just threw me a title "visual" and my role was just to model for magazines and attract fans with my beauty. Visuals should get the most screen time, right? But in YG, no. I sighed and strode towards the building. Fans were already outside, swarming around and screaming, giving me headaches.
"Saranghae Jisoo-yah!"
"MARRY ME PLEASEEE!"
"Where are the other girls?"
"Is it true Jennie is dating GD?"
"Can I take a selfie with you?"
"Sign my album, Jisoo!"
"Give this to the others please, "
I smiled at them and declined the presents and ignored the questions. Once I finally got into the building where fans weren't allowed, I dropped my smile and braced for some YG-style dissing.
I rapped on the door with the tag of "Yang Hyun Suk - CEO of YGE" grimly. "Come in, " he called. I pushed the door open and took a seat in front of the desk with sunbaenim's permission. "So, Jisoo, you are to return to SBS a fortnight from today because you are to emcee with Jinyoung from GOT7 and V from BTS," I tried to hide my disappointment but I was obviously unsuccessful with the look of YG's face. "Yes, V. I watched the broadcast today. I know what happened. But still go and bear with him. And don't fall for him, you still have the dating ban," he addressed me. "Of course I won't. He just embarrassed me in front of the whole South Korea and possibly a large amount of fans around the world," I scoffed. "Let's see. Every time someone says they won't fall in love, they do. Just listen to me and get out of my office." YG said. I walked out in disbelief and was escorted back to the dorm luckily away from prying eyes.
I plopped onto the sofa and updated my Instagram.
