Chapter 8 : Storms x To x Found
~~~
I watched as the crowd near the ship bid their farewell to a young cheerful boy clothed in green as he waved his hands back.
"I'm going to be the best Hunter in the whole world!!! I promise to come back once I become the best Hunter!!!"
A small smile appeared in my lips without me knowing. Interest glinted my eyes as I looked at the young boy again.
But interruption come along my way of thoughts with a few laughter filled with arrogance around the ship.
"Best hunter in the world, eh?"
"This kid must be belittling us,"
"Millions of skilled applicants are going to Hunter Exam every year, but only few are selected."
"So don't say something that you can't prove, little boy,"
Some of the fellow ship boarders commented on the young boy in green who just ignored them carefully as he walked past them.
I sighed quietly at the corner of the ship, a bit far away from them.
Sometimes, I can't help but wonder at myself how I liked those eyes who holds innocence and courage underneath than those who holds arrogance in their eyes but fear was underneath.
I clicked my tongue as I looked up at the sky, bursting my own bubble of thoughts as if I care less.
I heard a commotion, slight I assume, from across the deck where I'm currently had my back leaning on the wooden rail.
As much as I want to satisfy my curiosity, I stood there still, already decided to quit interfering from one's business.
Instead, maybe I should just enjoy the salty sea breeze that smells like storm.
Wait-- did I just said storm?
"This is a huge storm I'm talking about!! Believe it!!"
My ears perked up when I heard the young boy from earlier. It seems like he's talking to someone-- or giving warning rather, while standing on top of the sail.
"He's sharp," I mumbled under my breath.
I stood straight as I stretched a bit, fixing my cloak after.
Honestly, I love rains.
But I don't think I can get myself soaked here outside, it's not a very nice idea as of the moment.
So I decided to stay in the cabin even though I don't want to, it's because I'm not used to being with a lot of people in one area and there's quite a number of passengers inside.
Strong winds roared in the sea as the waves went wild, attacking the ship along with the cold rain, falling heavily from dark clouds.
It caused the ship to rock back and forth in a heavy motion, making a lot of passengers feel motion sickness.
I sat in the dark corner of the cabin with my right knee pulled up while my back was leaning on the cold wooden wall.
With my presence remain unnoticed, I observed the surrounding silently.
A lot of muscular men with intimidating looks who claimed to be taking their so-called Hunter Exam, were lying on different positions, trying to get a hold of theirselves as they fight back dizziness and the urge to vomit with their upset stomachs.
I rolled my eyes.
Seriously? These men are sure going to take the Hunter Exam?
To think that they are the ones who have the guts to warn the young boy earlier as they told him something about Hunter Exam being a serious matter.
