Oliver and his pack receives help from a stranger when they're on their way to save Laurel and Iris from Hunter. But saving them is easier said than done although Oliver is risking it all to do so.

Oliver's POV

I watched Barry get into the car with my sister and Roy while I was heading into the woods and tossed my clothes and turned into a wolf. Then I sent Laurel a thought.
/"Laurel. I'm on my way. You and Iris better be okay."/ And I hoped she would be able to communicate back.
/"We are, Ollie, for now. Hunter doesn't want to kill us until the vampire is here."/The sole thought of that made me grit my wolf teeth as I wandered further into the woods in my wolf form. It didn't hurt anymore to transform anymore, the way it did the first few times, and like I told Barry before experienced werewolves can control their wolf form better. But I could sense that Laurel had a painful transformation. Most likely because she was tied up and it made me more angry than I already was.
My senses were instantly sharper once I was in my wolf form and I started following the other's trail, but since they had been looking for the place from Starling, I couldn't get a clear trail yet.
/"Where are you guys?"/ I asked them in my head.
/"We're near the tower where the vampire was kept for two years. Felicity found a cottage nearby, but not close enough to be a danger later and we also found a passed out human."/ Dinah revealed and I wrinkled my wolf nose. I could sense I was getting closer to the cottage now because several wolf scents was hanging in the air.
/"And turns out this human is some criminal named Snart according to Felicity who managed to talk to him when he woke up."/ she continued and of course. He must've been looking for Barry, but what if he was following him? What if he was about to lure him back? Maybe he just kissed Barry and helped him to get on his good side, but I hope I'm wrong. But I'll need to test my theory anyway.
/"He helped Barry and he can get us into the tower. He's some sort master thief who's hooked on vampire poison."/ I told them. I hope Barry forgives me for that one, but the mission is saving my Laurel and his Iris. Nothing else. And hopefully it won't come to the human's death, but we need someone who can help us free those women and maybe the other prisoners too. And at the same time prove that he's not working for Hunter.
/"Oliver, you do know that we can hear everything you're thinking and we can sense that you're annoyed that the human kissed your vampire friend first."/ John scoffed but he couldn't be more wrong and I scoffed too while I started to approach the cottage. I wasn't annoyed with the human because of that. I wasn't jealous. Why on earth would I be jealous? It's not like the vampire is mine. I'm married for gods sake, I just knew that I needed to keep Barry in my life no matter what the vampires and my pack thinks about that, but that doesn't mean that I'm jealous. Never. Definitely not. I don't get jealous.
/"As soon as we've rescued Laurel, you two need to have a serious conversation about your obsession with this vampire."/Dinah said and if I was in my human form I would've blushed. Instead I could feel my ears sink back and I lowered my nose in embarrassment.
/"If you're all done making fun of my love life, maybe we can get the stupid human to help us get inside the tower you guys found? So we can rescue the women."/ I asked frustratedly when I finally found the rest of the pack outside the cottage they were talking about.
"Good, you're all here." Felicity greeted us as she slowly opened the door to the cottage, she must've heard when I appeared outside to join the rest of the wolves. "I'll send out the human." she said before a human came out from the little cottage. He was wearing a big parka that was way too warm for the weather this time of year. It was early fall but still pretty warm outside. And I couldn't for the life of me see what Barry saw in him. This human looked tired, his gray-blue eyes were red-eyed as if he hadn't slept for days.
But the bigger problem was to get him to help us get inside the creepy tower, because he looked very confused and worried when he saw a bunch of wolves surrounding him. I had only communicated with humans in my wolf form once before because the only creatures we can actually talk to in our wolf forms are other wolves by our telepathy. And in our wolf form we can also talk to vampires in some extent because the first vampires had the ability of turning into wolves too. But we can't read vampire's minds. And our words are just howling to humans.
But I still attempted to talk to the scared vampire junkie. "Barry." I tried to say, but it probably sounded more like a helpless dog's howling, but he must've heard it somehow. He looked right at me and got a slightly suspicious and worried expression on his face. Before he decided to show us the way to Hunter's secret base. Maybe Felicity had already managed to inform him about the situation before she sent him out to us?
The tower wasn't too far away and when we were outside Snart carefully unlocked the door to the basement from the outside. He'd probably stolen a key in his escape for himself. "Unfortunately I can't help you any longer since I prefer to keep breathing." the human said with a low hiss, but before he could leave I gave him a push with my nose as if to tell him to head down the stairs because someone had to untie the women who were most likely tied up.
/"Rene and Dinah, you're guarding the place outside and when it's safe and the evil vampires are distracted you can go in and get the rest of the prisoners back to the cottage and then you should come back in case we need your help."/ I told them and gained some huffs in disappointment.
/"Why on earth do we care about saving the other vampires, huh? Oh that's right, your gross vampire lover./ Rene asked with annoyance in his thoughts.
/"We'll save them to prove we're better than the cruel vampires and because we punish those who breaks our laws."/ I replied with a growl before John and I followed the human junkie down into the basement of the tower.
The cellar was dark but thanks to my wolf-vision my eyes instantly drifted to Laurel and Iris, who looked bruised and tied up. So I urged Snart to help untie Iris who appeared to be knocked out while I walked up to Laurel who was chained up in her wolf form. I'm gonna kill Hunter for this. It's always less painful to get the transformation over quickly. The pain in her thoughts before must've been as bad as I had feared.
/"Laurel. I'm here now and I'm so so sorry."/ I apologized while I puffed on the brown wolf to help her stand up with my nose. She looked at me with her deep green wolf eyes.
/"Ollie. You're really here."/ She sounded weak even in her thoughts.
/"I am now and I'm not leaving you again. I'm truly sorry for my stupid behavior lately."/ I apologized again and puffed on her with my nose once more as I brushed my wolf body against hers in a gentle manner.
/"I'm just glad you showed up. Let's talk about everything later. No need to discuss it right now."/ She answered and I nodded. She was right, but that meant that she knew what had happened and that she had probably heard my thoughts as well when I slept with Barry. I really screwed up. I don't know what I was thinking.
Then Iris woke up and gasped slightly when she noticed me as the dirty-blonde wolf and the black wolf, John plus an unfamiliar human in the basement cell. "Barry sent them." Snart explained to her and Iris glanced at me as if she could recognize me.
"Oh did he now!" An ice cold voice could be heard from the door to the basement. The monster must've heard Iris surprised gasp and us wolves even though we'd tried to be careful. I looked in the direction of the cold voice and noticed the pale, blonde vampire with black eyes known as Hunter Solomon, and the blonde female vampire who assaulted Barry was standing right next to him. Her eyes were pitch black too. I guess vampires with no humanity have black eyes.
The other wolves could sense how much those two blonde vampires made my blood boil of anger for what they did to Laurel, and mostly for what they did to Barry. /"Oliver, we only came here to save Laurel and Iris. Do not do anything stupid."/ John's voice echoed from the black wolf next to me. But all I could think about was my rage towards those two vampires.
"So, where is the traitorous young vampire, huh?" Hunter asked and slowly approached Snart who looked scared out of his mind, all color had faded from his face. I'd never seen a human so pale before. "Did I not tell you to find him and bring him back here alive so that I could rip his heart out?" I noticed the fear in Snart's eyes when Hunter yelled. I flinched at the cold words, but I tried not to show any sudden moves that would make the monster attack us. He didn't even care about us wolves. Thank god Barry's far away from here on his way to the vampire castle by now, if they haven't even arrived there already. Because that vampire really is scary and I don't get intimidated very easily. I've fought too many horrible creatures to care.
"Or maybe you even helped him escape?" The evil vampire guessed which made the junkie gulp loudly. To everyone's surprise Hunter started laughing hysterically, a real maniac's laugh. "Did you honestly believe that he cared for you? And that he would come back to save you one day?" Hunter asked mockingly once he had collected his evil laughter. "He's a vampire. Trained by me. He doesn't care for anyone anymore. Everything he's told you is just a bunch of manipulative lies." His cold words were almost cut of by Iris.
"No! My Barry isn't like that. He might be a vampire, but he still has his humanity. I've seen it with my own eyes." The black human girl said in Barry's defense and Hunter instantly turned his attention to her. I need to keep my promise to Barry, I can't let her die. The worry inside me only got bigger and bigger the closer Hunter got to the woman Barry loves. My heart was beating faster than usual.
"You were supposed to be the bait." Hunter said with no ounce of humanity in his voice when he stood right in front of Iris. My protective instincts finally kicked in when Hunter was standing right in front of her.
/"I can't let that monster kill her, Barry would hate me forever since I promised him I'd bring her back safe and sound."/ My fear took over the control of my thoughts.
/"Don't worry, we will."/ Laurel replied softly and tossed a glance at me. I hadn't realized I was thinking out loud for the other wolves to hear again.
Hunter suddenly threw a glance at the open basement door because he could hear Dinah and Rene approaching outside. /"We've helped the other prisoners. We told them to get back to Felicity in the cottage so they won't get caught again."/Dinah explained. Maybe this rescue mission wouldn't go to hell after all? I felt a tad more optimistic all of a sudden which wasn't like me. Barry's blood in my system was still affecting me. But Hunter didn't even care about the wolves outside he returned his dark gaze to Iris.
"My plan was to kill you in front of your precious Barry." Hunter said when he had returned his attention to Iris while he brushed a finger across the girl's throat. "Because when you're gone he will no longer have any reason to hold on to his stupid humanity. Like it should be. Vampires are cold dead beings who shouldn't feel a thing, deep down Barry is just the same. Just too bad he was such a coward that he sent a pack of dogs to save you in his place." The evil vampire said and exchanged a glance with the female vampire who was still standing in the door to the basement. She seemed more anxious about us wolves than Hunter was. That was one good thing.
"Kill the girl, anyway. When Barry learns I've killed the love of his life..." Hunter made a mockingly sad pout to Patty when he said that. "... He will come crawling back to kill me and then I can finally rip his heart out...and maybe, I'll feed it to the dogs." he said as he looked right at me. It was as is if he could see right through my icy blue wolf eyes and the way I cared for Barry.
Something just snapped inside of me and I growled loudly as I jumped the evil vampire which surprised him enough to throw him off guard. A heavy dirty-blonde wolf pinning him to the ground gave him nowhere to run. But while I attacked him, the blonde female rushed towards Iris to bite her and kill her. But before she reached her the brown wolf threw herself in the evil blonde's path and knocked Iris to safety.
"Laurel!" I screamed out loud with a cracking howl as I watched the blonde vampire bite her and feed on her until a light brown wolf, Dinah, came in and scratched the blonde vampire so she fell to the ground. I could only watch the scene in panic as I stood on Hunter and heard Laurel's shattered scream as she seemed to turn back into a human. But only halfway. I was paralyzed in fear and got distracted enough for Hunter to shove me off him and slam me into a wall.
/"Get Laurel and the humans out of here. Now."/I ordered with a growl once I gathered my senses and John started to steer Iris out of the basement while Dinah managed to roll the injured Laurel onto her light-brown wolf back with the help of Rene. When they had gotten Iris and Laurel out to safety I was about to follow with Snart behind me. But then Hunter reached a hold of the human and pulled him back by the collar of his big winter-coat.
"You're all fools for thinking that you could ever beat me, Hunter Solomon. And you, Snart, you were an even bigger fool for loving that vampire. Better I rip your heart out now because he's only going do it slowly." Hunter said coldly before he ripped the human's heart out and grinned with a wicked smirk. "Send Rory my regards." the monster added before he dropped the lifeless body to the ground and tossed the heart on the ground next to him.
"Who's next?" he asked and I started growling at him again and slowly approached him again with the intent to kill him.
/"Oliver. We need to get out of here. Now!"/John growled in my head as he noticed what I was about to do and I knew he was right, but as I saw Patty, or whatever the blonde's name was, slowly get up with the scratch across her back that Dinah gave her I charged towards her and scratched her again.
"That's for my wife!" I growled and noticed how frightened she was which made me feel oddly satisfied. "And this is for Barry!" I added with another another growl at her before I drove my teeth into her skin and bit her because I knew a wolf-bite would kill her more slowly than the scratches would.
Then I slowly backed away from her cold body and the cry in pain from the female vampire even threw the psychopath off guard. He rushed over to her side while I could get out of the basement and as soon as we were safely outside I sealed the door with my nose so we could get a head start.
/"We need to get back to the cottage. Now. I don't think we have much time."/I ordered while I tossed a glance at Laurel who was on the ground drifting back and fourth from human form to wolf form. Her eyes, teeth, claws and fur kept shifting from wolf-form to human form and she cried out in pain on the ground next to Dinah. She couldn't die, she just couldn't. There was no way I could survive without Laurel in my life.
Once we got back to the cottage Felicity had thankfully prepared clothes there for when all of us transformed back into humans. I pulled on a pair of pants before I carried Laurel over to the bed to place her down, but we got some weird looks from the two vampires who must be Jesse and Caitlin according to Barry. And the confused and scared human who must be Cisco.
"Have we been kidnapped?" One of the brunette vampires asked the room that was full of people and John tried to explain the situation to the confused prisoners.
I sat down on the bedside next to Laurel with a horrible guilt in my stomach. "I am so so sorry. I wished I could undo all of this." I said while I squeezed my wife's hand tight. She was weak, but she still had a pulse but she had lost a lot of blood. On the plus side she had stopped turning back and fourth so often, but her eyes, teeth and claws still changed back and fourth and her breathing was heavy. "I wish I knew what to do to help you." I murmured and pressed a kiss to her sweaty forehead. She tried to smile through her pain.
"I love you." Laurel mustered with a cough before she seemed to drift off again.
"No, no, no Laurel, please, stay with me." I begged with tears streaming down my face while I was cradling both her hands in mine as her eyes shut close for a second.
"I'm sorry too. I can't help but feel guilty because she jumped in front of me." Iris said apologetically while she was standing somewhere behind me in the small room that was filled with people. I couldn't look at anyone of them.
"Yeah. Just so Oliver wouldn't!" Dinah yelled with a very upset voice. I couldn't blame her for being mad, but I didn't take my eyes of my wife. "Because suddenly your promise to that stupid vampire means more than your wedding vows to your own wife!" she continued her angry rant. I felt too guilty to argue with her and I knew how she felt about Laurel. It was obvious now. And I should've been more concerned with Laurel instead of avenging Barry or even sleeping with him in the first place. His life wasn't even my business. And now my wife was dying for it.
"Isn't that a bit harsh?" Felicity asked quietly and interrupted my thoughts, but Dinah just glared at her with her blue-green wolf eyes and then glanced back at Laurel again, who squeezed my hand tight as her claws grew back out again. And I was powerless to help her. Dinah was right. It's all my fault.
"No, it's not too harsh. His own wife got hurt, all because he was stupid enough to get involved with a bloodsucking vampire, and then he risked everything to keep his promise to his new lover that he's known for two days." Dinah responded still with that salty tone in her voice. "And how long have you known Laurel?" she added with piercing blue eyes at me and I threw a guilty look at the love of my life. She tried to keep her eyes open but they fluttered closed again. I couldn't even reply to Dinah's question.
"Okay, sorry for cutting in and I know you're not gonna like this, but I think the only way to save the wolf girl is to turn her... or else she's not gonna make it." The vampire probably known as Caitlin said, I thought it was her at least, since she was supposedly a doctor before she was turned.
"I guess it's your call, Oliver." John said and placed a hand on my shoulder. He seemed more supportive all of a sudden. I thought I'd get another lecture from him too because frankly I deserved it.
"Can't you heal her with your vampire blood?" I asked and looked up at the female vampire stranger.
"I'm afraid not, she seems to be in some kind of epileptic shock from whatever Patty did to her and she's dying with vampire blood in her veins because Hunter forced them to drink it just in case when he took them." Caitlin explained while he looked from Laurel to Iris in the back of the room. "I fear it's the only way to save her" she added and I sighed deeply.
"Then do it." I said with a sigh and tried to blink away tears when I got some weird looks. "I can't lose her and William needs his mother." My voice cracked when I spoke since it was my fault she was lying there like that. Dying. I didn't want her to become a vampire because being a werewolf was a part of her, and that bloodlust, I wasn't sure what it would do to her, but I just couldn't lose her.
"Once she dies with vampire blood in her system, she has to be buried with the vampire who turns her, and I guess I can do it and then we have to dig ourselves up the next night and feed." Caitlin explained the whole turning process, but I didn't even want to think about it. I sighed deeply again while I gently caressed Laurel's cheek and I could feel tears rolling down my face.
"I'm so sorry but I love you so much." I whispered into her ear and hoped she could hear me before I pressed a tender kiss to her lifeless lips. She wasn't dead yet but she was weaker.
Then I turned my head to look up at Caitlin. "Take her back to Starling." I said and got up and then I picked Laurel up in my arms and started to approach the door.
"She's going to hate you for it, you know?" Dinah said when me and the brunette vampire were halfway out the door.
"If she hates me it's still better then her being dead." I replied quietly without meeting the rest of my pack's glares as we headed outside the cottage and I urged the vampire to take Laurel back to Starling as quickly as possible and I'd catch up because I had to be there when she was buried and woke up tomorrow night.
But how could I ever explain this to her father and Sara or even worse poor William? My head was spinning as I was starting to make my way back to the road where Laurel's car was found before I got back to Starling again.
