This ain't Florida anymore, bitch

It had been raining for days.

Normally no one would bat an eye, after all it was summer in Florida, storms were to be expected.

If this were an average summer a person might step outside, touch some grass, maybe get a bite to eat, and enjoy shopping. It would usually help to combat the gloomy atmosphere.

But of course this was no average Florida summer.

It was the year 2020, the year of pain.

Everyone was stuck in quarantine.

There was no way to touch some grass, there was no way to eat out, and there was no way to go shopping.

There was no defense against the melancholy vibe. Only emos and shut-ins enjoyed this.

Of course our protagonist (Y/N) has found a way around this with anime. Quarantine has given her all the time in the world to watch all the anime that she wants.

Kill La Kill, Madoka Magica, Full Metal Alchemist, even that shitty Danganronpa anime you name it.

If you look over there now you can see her.

"Holy shiiiiiiiiiit" she mumbled dreamily, snuggling into her Lucky Star blanket.

Ah

...

Well that should certainly give you an idea of her personality.

She stared at her laptop screen, the device illuminated her teenage features. It played the ending for the final episode of an anime known as Demon Slayer.

(Y/N) smiled gleefully "Well that is definitely one of my favorite animes, I can't wait for season two."

The soft clicking of a keyboard could be heard as she opened the Crunchyroll episode list.

Soon the excited grin fell from her face, a sad expression took its place, and soon an irratated look replaced that one.

No film could be found anywhere on Crunchyroll. "Dammit! Don't tell me it's on Funimation"

Unfortunately the odds were not in (Y/N)'s favor.

Demon Slayer-Kimetsu no Yaiba-The Movie: Mugen Train was right on the front page of the website. The orange SUBSCRIBE banner seemed to be taunting her, because (Y/N) was broke as fuck.

She used to have a job at the local 7/11 but she couldn't return there. After all, there was the pandemic to worry about. (Y/N) may love money but she also loves being alive.

The (h/c) girl had impulsively spent all her money and now her bank account was completely empty.

Tragic, I know.

(Y/N) flipped off the subscribe banner, which did nothing to cure her money problems. At least she felt slightly better.

The distraught weeb was silent for a few moments. The only sound was the relentless rain outside, pounding furiously against the window.

...

Only now was she becoming aware of the fact her eyes stung from gazing into the screen for so long.

...

She pulled her blanket over her head like a hood.
