I felt my leather boots getting soaked with water while I was running for my life.
I couldn't really see what was behind me, but what I could hear were his demonic screams.
They sounded like something scratching on a metal door.
I didn't dare to slow down or turn around to see the beast that was following me.
If I would have stopped that would have meant my death and I wasn't ready to die, not yet.
Since I had left my village 3 days ago the only time I had stoped was to take care of my wounds.
I stumbled over something, a pice of wood I thought. As I got up again, it shivered over my spine like a cold wave. I held back my scream as I saw what I had just fallen over. It hadn't been a piece of wood, but a bone sticking out of a liveless body laying under me. I couldn't see if it had been a human cause there was not really much left of it. Only a few pieces of rotten flesh.
As fast as I could I got up again and started to run. My only thought was to get out of here, out of this dead and creepy place. I couldn't even imagine what must have happend here, but I could l could think of who. The things that we were told about as Children, the heirs of the night, the Monsters of our dreams. Since I was a little girl my grandmother had warned me about them. As they were as beautiful as deadly and merciless. I had never seen one in my live but I heard the elders talking about them and while they were doing so they voices were filled with fear. These things could kill you in seconds. We called them fay but that was just a word for all of them. There were so many races and different kinds of them as I couldn't even think of in my wildest dreams.
I flinched as I heard the screams of terror again. I started to run again but I was so scared of what I just had seen, that I started crying. I felt the salty tears filling my eyes and running down my face while I just kept trying not to get caught by that thing. I didn't even dared to imagine what would happen to me if it did. The muddy ground below my shoes started to get tighter and tourned into a gravel kind of way. I just wanted to get out of this place of horror and death.
As I ran further along this kind of way so many things got trough my head. Where was I? What had I just gotten into? How the hell would I survive the long way that was before me before I would have finally reached my final destination?

The screams behind me slowly got more silent. I slowed down and for the first time of the day I dared to look back. As I look around me I realized how tired I really was. As the adrenaline left my veins I felt the wave of exhaustion coming over me.
I hadn't sleep in a long time now. I tried to make myself go forwards again, but my body didn't even move an inch. The sword and the daggers on my belt felt extremely heavy, like they where pulling me to the ground. I took a deep breath and arched up my back. But I was to tired, my body still wasn't moving. I tried again and again but my arms and legs were frozen. As I tried again it hit me like a wave of cold death and everything turned black.
