We arrived. It was..oddly silent. No one in sight, besides the crashed copter; which was still on fire. Now the question is- who would go in?
"So.. who's goin' in first?" Boomerang turned to us all, his hands placed onto his hips. We all turned to each other for a moment. Fire plus an explosive implant normally isn't well..the best combination. "Well?"
Silence.
"Who's got flame retardant fabric?" He spoke again.
I had Kevlar. Mainly on my vest of course, but I had some on my pants and shoes as well. Rick probably had some too, due to his uniform but I wasn't sure about everybody else. "I do." I spoke at the edge of the silence, just folding my arms now. Flag quickly turned- as if he was going to oppose to me entering a live fire.
"Guess you're going in then, girlie." Boomerang flashed his smile again, stepping aside whilst interrupting Rick before he could even say anything.
"Alright." I sighed, flipping up my hood.
Floyd and Flag quickly turned to each other, before Flag grabbed me by the arm, "You sure?"
"I'm positive, Colonel. Just lemme go in." Flag made a iffy face..contesting the thought of this. "Let me go Flag. I got this."
Flag sighed, letting go of my arm as he ran his hands over his face, "Be careful."
"Obviously." I gave them a slight grin before making my way up to the helicopter crash. I placed my hand on some bent metal, taking a deep breath before taking one step in.
And then I heard a voice.
"What'cha guys doin..?" Harley shouted over, from behind us. Completely okay. I quickly turned, not clocking it was Harley immediately but looked back. "Why's she going into the fire?"
Flag quickly ran over, yanking me by the jacket away from the live fire. We both fell back onto the wet ground from the rain as I quickly got back up onto my hands, looking up at Harley. "You're ALIVE?"
"Obviously..I got out cause I saw another chopper." She smiled wide, folding her hands together. "Were you gonna..eh..go in to save me?"
"..Yeah. It was a pretty good plan too." I sighed, slowly getting up with the help of Flag beside me. We both stood beside each other, staring at Harley.
"Well..thank you."
"..No problem. Can we uh..go into that bar?" I motioned over to a bar to our right, sighing. Being near the flame made me break into a slight sweat, let alone placing my hand on the metal.
A few light chuckles were heard before Harley quickly nodded, "Course.."

We all entered the bar, all splitting up into small sections whilst still being in speaking range. Harley became our bartender, while I sat at the bar counter with Floyd and Croc. Boomerang sat on a booth table, while Diablo and Katana positioned themselves farther away in booths from Boomerang. I don't blame them really.
"So..you gonna tell us what happened?" Floyd looked at me now as Flag took a seat beside me.
"I..uh." I was uncertain. Couldn't think for myself at the moment. Scrambled every which way.
Flag ran a hand over his face, "They killed my second in command and are keeping us out in the field. Since Waller's either dead or alive..no one can bring us back for now."
Diablo turned, "What?"
I sighed, "Waller's copter sort of disappeared..we were more or so focused on y'know..Harley."
"That..that's not reassuring, Y/N."
Floyd turned back to Diablo, "As far as I'm concerned, you haven't done jack shit for us besides the floor wipe out." He motioned to me, "She did something. Not, you."
"It's alright, Floyd. I'm sorry Santana."
He ran a hand over his tattoos, before hesitatingly saying, "It's..alright."
I looked to Harley and Croc, "You guys okay? Been silent."
Harley gave a hushed nod, while Croc nodded happily. I looked to Harley now, "You okay, Harls?"
"I'm uh..I don't think Joker got out."
"Oh..shit. I- He's probably okay."
"He..He probably is." She managed to say. I could tell she was holding back tears. But she had courage. Just deciding to stay. Even waiting for us- even if she had nobody else. She relied on us.
"You've got us now." Flag sighed, taking a small sip of his drink.
Floyd and Harley turned to him slowly, before looking back to each other and raising their brows. "Us?" Boomerang looked over, flashing a grimacing look.
Harley groaned for a moment, before staring at Rick, "I..I don't mean this offensively; but Rick, you're nothing like us. You're an army boy. We're convicts."
Rick obviously looked uncomfortable. Unsure of what to say. Floyd huffed, "She's got a point Flag. You gotta stop sorting yourself into the same group as us- next thing you know; you'll be in Belle Reve with us."
Flag sort of nodded, "I wouldn't mind it. So uh..here it goes." He reached into his vest, pulling out a few envelopes. All nicely decorated. Like a child made them. "Floyd..here are the letters your daughter sent you." He pushed them over.
Floyd began to tear up as he quickly picked them up, grabbing the one on top and opening it. He shakily read it, his eyes tracing over the page quickly. He stopped, looking at Flag. "You..You had these? Th..The entire time?"
"I wasn't allowed to give them to you until we finished the mission."
"We're gonna get you to that hall." He managed, stuffing the rest of the envelopes into his vest. "If it's the last thing I'll fucking do, I'll get you to the hall."
