We all split up into rooms in a near-by hotel. Our plan right now..wouldn't really work if we were all incredibly tired. Harley, Katana and I took a room next to Floyd and Flags, while Croc and Boomerang took their own room. Diablo got a room for himself..but we could tell he wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. He was tired. Tired of everything.
Tired of being used mainly.
Katana was silent always. She wasn't a big fan of speaking, but when she spoke..we could tell it was a serious topic for her. Harley talked mainly whenever she wanted. Whether it was relevant to her or not- she spoke. It wasn't like I didn't want her to speak though. She was smart, even under the years of wear and tear Joker caused her. Flag was..well Flag. Army boy, so he had that sort of entitlement. Don't get me wrong, it was useful, but how many times are you gonna tell a person you're in the army? Floyd was educated though. No matter his backstory, he had a good intuition. We trusted his gut more than anyone.
But I really couldn't sleep. Not after what I saw. I was used to death..I was used to the eye-awakening feeling of it. But these..creatures. They were people. Forced into submission. A shitty myth story, turned true. All because of Waller and some girl who decided to go into a cave at the wrong time. Because of it all, I just laid awake. Staring up in the darkness, while Katana and Harley slept beside me.
I slowly lifted the covers off of me, sliding out of bed as Harley grabbed my arm, slowly whispering, "Where are you going?"
I whispered back to her, getting closer to her so she could loosen her grip. "The lounge. Can't sleep."
"Oh. Be safe." She whispered, completing our conversation and letting go of my arm. I sighed lightly, sliding my jacket on. Turning to the bed where both Katana and Harley now returned to a full-sleep. Afterwards, I just walked out. Going down the steps, eventually heading to where the lounge was. I was of course, trying to be quiet. No matter what, I was really trying to avoid talking to anyone. Wasn't a big fan of..confessing about what I was feeling right now to anyone. As I entered the lounge, I pocketed my hands. Stepping over to a seat near the window, and sitting down. Just staring out.
"Y/L/N?" A voice asked over, basically in a whisper-yell.
I turned my head, noticing it was Rick. "..That's me."
He nodded, walking up to where the seat by my side was. Just sitting down beside me. "Sorry..was a bit dark."
"No worries. Couldn't sleep either?" I asked, still staring ahead.
He huffed, "Yeah."
"The stuff out there.."
"Really scared you?" He finished my sentence.
I turned, letting out a light enthusiastic huff, returning to looking out the window soon after. "..Yeah."
"Wish we all would've..really just met on different circumstances."
I leaned onto my side now, "It would've been nice. Imagine if we had been in the army together." I chuckled for a moment.
"Would've been fun." He looked at me for a moment, the only thing totally visible about me was my face due to the window. "Would've definitely been fun."
I looked to him now. Just..admiring this side of him. "We could've had it all."
He grinned, staring back at me. "Feels like the 'all' is right now."
"Probably-" I was cut off. He quickly got up from his chair, kneeling down as he cupped my head in his hands. Leaning forward before we both interlocked lips. The sheer feeling of his was..sort of thrilling. I quickly responded back, putting my hand on the back of his neck, slowly running my hand through his hair. And for a moment..I could feel a smirk pull on his face.
"I've wanted to do that since we met." He whispered, pulling back but placing his head against mine.
I smirked, "God. If only we had met in different circumstances."
"Hmm. You could've been working an office job. Maybe I was just a pursuer. Fighting for you."
"Or- maybe I was fighting for you."
"I wouldn't be opposed to it." He ran a hand alongside my face. Smiling. He genuinely looked happy. And I was too. Even if it risked the world, being with him was like a small match being lit in eternal darkness. I sighed. The moment was nice of course- but here came my thoughts. "What is it? Did I..did I do something wrong?"
"I'm gonna end back up in prison, Rick." I frowned. I felt terrible for bringing up the thought, and maybe I shouldn't have brought it up in the first place. No turning back though. "You're gonna wish you never met me, aren't you?"
Rick quickly got up. Walking in-front of me as he leaned forward onto the seat. "I would never regret it. Not in 700 million fucking years, Y/L/N."
The moment returned. I grabbed the sides of his face and pulled him in, the two of us kissing as he began to lean further and further in, eventually placing a hand on the back of my neck. For brief moments, we just stared at each other. Whether it was the time or not, we didn't know if these were going to be the last moments.
(going to add a smut chapter, so it'll be part 8 continued however its basically gonna be skippable if people don't wanna read it!!)
