"Azure, come on. We're going to be late." My older brother looks at me, an annoyed expression sitting on his face.
"Sorry Cyan." I apologize quickly to my brother. Our parents had a lovely sense of humor. There are five kids in my family, with me being the youngest. It was Sapphire as the eldest sister, followed by Blue, then Navy, and last but not least, was Cyan who are all boys and the middle children. As you can tell from our names, our parents really loved the colour blue, considering that they named us all after some shade of blue. And to make things worse, our last name is Sky. So our names literally translate to 'blue sky'.
A lot of people look at my sister and they don't make the connection that her name means blue, they all just look at her and think that she was called Sapphire because she was gorgeous. She had long, straight, golden hair. Like her name, her eyes were the most beautiful sapphire colour. Her skin was lightly tanned and she had a perfect smile. Her chest was very ample in size, in my opinion too much so, and her thighs seemed to be a little on the chubby side, however not many people seemed to have a problem with it. In their eyes she was the perfect lady. However she was one cruel woman who you never wanted to make your enemy. She's 19, and is currently single again, waiting for a hot rich man too come sweep her off her feet. She has never worked for a day in her life, thanks to our parents always spoiling her.
Blue is the next eldest, at the age of 17. He likes running, but apart from the morning and evening run that he only does enough to keep his form so that he doesn't lose his lady friends, he's also lazy, just not as much as our sister Sapphire. Blue had the same golden hair that our sister had, but instead of her sapphire eyes, he had baby blue eyes, which for some reason, women love. He also had a nicely tanned skin, from all the running in the sun he did, which adds more to the charm that women love. I don't know why people find him so handsome, but one of my friends said that the only reason I don't like him is because he is my brother. I like to think that I am immune to good looks, but i haven't seen any good looking guys, so I wouldn't be able to tell you if that was true or not.
Finally is Navy's turn. Navy is the dead center of our bunch, being 16 years old, and one of the only god people in our family. I will honestly say that Navy is my favorite brother. When he was younger and the youngest among the siblings at the time, Sappire and Blue used to dump all the chores on him, so he knew how to do all the household chores, thanks to the unfairness of the order of our birth. Navy has very light blonde hair, that is more white then anything else. His eyes are navy blue in colour, that are so dark, I love the colour. He has fair skin, that might be leaning more to the pale side, but no one looks close enough to clearly tell.
At 15 is the next in the family Cyan. He absolutely hates his name, since he got picked on in primary school for it being a 'girly' name, so he asks people to call him by his last name. After Cyan had grown up enough to do some chores, some work started getting dumped onto him. Navy felt bad for him, and tried helping him out, however Cyan would always leave the work for Navy to do, running off to hang out with friends. Cyan had the same golden blonde hair as our oldest siblings, and Cyan coloured eyes. His skin was the darkest of all of ours, and I think he got that trait from our grandpa from our dads side... maybe.
Then you have me, the youngest, Azure Sky. By the time I was born, our parents were so sick of looking after children that they up and left. Not lying, a week after I was born, Navy woke up to find a letter from our parents telling us that they were going to travel. By themselves. Sapphire, Blue and Cyan left all the work to Navy, including the part where he had to earn money to feed us all and keep a roof over our heads. As well as look after a newborn baby. He eventually managed to get a job as a primary school teacher, and after learning about our circumstances, the teachers didn't mind him bringing me, the newborn baby, to school. When the teachers didn't have any classes, they would look after me while my brother worked.
I took after Navy a lot, that people often thought I might have been his child, but the misunderstanding was cleared when someone who had known our parents showed up and explained everything. I had the same white hair and pale skin that Navy had, but my eyes were azure not navy. That was the one thing I hated about myself. I wanted navy coloured eyes like my brother.
Since I ended up growing in a school, I also started to learn things from early on that most people wouldn't be able to understand if they were the same age as me. By the time I was 12 years old, I had already graduated from a top class college and was considered to be a genius of my generation. I'm now 13 years old, and have a job, so that I can help Navy keep a roof above our heads. I pay the rent, while Navy pays for food. I told everyone that i only got paid enough to pay rent, however that was not the truth. I got paid more, but I always put that into a savings account. It was money I was saving up for Navy and I to move out, without my other siblings. They were old enough to look after themselves.
However life loves to snatch away your hopes and dreams, throw them at the floor, jump on them, then grind them into the grind, and throw it off a cliff and into the ocean to be swept away. And the reason why it goes this far? Because it was something horrible that you will never forget and it is now unattainable, taken with the sea to who knows where. And that is exactly what is about to happen to me, without my knowing, as it would always happen, because why would the world give you a warning that your life is going to be thrown into disarray and one wrong move could end up killing you? The answers simple. If you prepare yourself, then where is the fun in watching you live happily? Oh no no no, life wants a good show filled with drama, so you must be unaware of what is about to happen.
"How many times have I got to tell you not to call me Cyan? It's Sky." He says rolling his eyes and walking out the door. I roll my eyes while he's not looking and follow him out. Sapphire, Blue and Navy are all already waiting for us.
"Could use have taken any longer?" Sapphire looks at us with annoyance, but her gaze quickly turns to a seductive one as she looks at someone jog past. "He was wearing what looked to be an expensive watch." Sapphire mutters. If she says that something is or looks expensive, then you'd better believe it. She can tell if something is fake with only a glance.
"Okay. Even though we didn't need to know that, thanks for telling us." Blue says sarcastically, earning a dirty look from Sapphire in return.
"No more fighting you guys, lets just get going." Navy sighs out. We are finally going house looking. Navy and I will be living together, and the rest of our siblings will be living together. They weren't happy when we told them that they were going to start looking after themselves. They've been on pretty rough terms since then.
"Let's go." I grin widely and grab Navy's hand, pulling him after me. As we all walk for our front gate, something begins to shake beneath our feet. We all stop and look down. Only to see the ground beneath us glowing. Navy pulls me closer to him, and tries to shield me, but before any of us know what is happening, everything turns dark.
