Chapter 5

Andy's POV

"Wait, so you tripped and Carlos had to help you up." Marc teased, I blushed nodding. We were both at the store, in my room eating a pizza we had ordered, watching a scary movie.

"It was mortifying." I said, taking the Pepperoni pieces off my slice, placing them in a napkin. The door opened, Jen walked obviously a bit ticked off. She plopped down on the futon, grabbing a slice of pizza.

"You guys could've told me you were here." she huffed, taking a big bite out of her pizza.

"Nice to see you too little sister." Marc smirked. Jen rolled her eyes at him.

"Why are you so mad?" I asked taking a sip of my Pepsi can.

"Nothing important, just some mother and daughter drama." she replied, looking at her pizza.

"What'd you guys fight about this time?" Marc asked, before belching, I followed mine being louder.

"You guys are gross," I smiled looking at Marc who shook his head. "It was the usual, mom got mad just because I went a little overboard with the credit card. You know how she is always giving lectures on responsibility, and blah, blah, blah."

I smiled, but my heart sank. I would give anything just to fight with my mom. To have one scold me when I did stupid mindless things, to give me advice when it came to difficult decisions. It's not the same with Carol, she's so warm and motherly, but it's not the same. I turned my eyes to Marc, who gave me a small smile.

"Jen, you just can't keep maxing out your card on useless crap. It's ridiculous." Marc said, Jen smiled standing up kissing Marc's cheek.

"I know big brother, that's why I used your card. See you later." she said goodbye, leaving. I started to laugh, Marc shook his head no.

"Well, at least mom knows." he said, I smiled looking down on my phone checking the time.

"Andy, I'm sorry." he said, I looked up at him.

"About what?" I asked confused.

"C'mon Andy, you don't have to pretend with me. I know it makes you a bit uncomfortable when Jen disrespects mom, or when something like that happens." he explained.

"It's fine Marc, it's been awhile now. And yeah from time to time, it gets to me, but I know I'll be okay." I replied.

Marc's POV

I smiled at her, as she reached for her necklace. Holding the stud tightly in her fist. "You love that necklace don't you?"

"You have no idea. It's the only thing I have close to my parents. My mom gave it to me before their last trip." she replied looking down on it. "It never leaves my sight."

She looked at me, giving me a small smile, my heart began to race. Why did she always have to do this to me?

I've had a crush on Andy since the first time I saw her, when I walked into the shop and saw her behind the glass countertop, talking to my mom. I know Andy only sees me as a brotherly figure, and nothing more. It's my fault, I should've gone towards a different path and Andy might've looked at me with different eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked me.

"Oh-um nothing.!" I stammered.

"It sure didn't seem like nothing." she teased cocking an eyebrow.

"Don't worry Andy it's nothing important. Hey it's getting late, I think I should get going. See you later." I said standing up and ruffling her brown locks.
