"Oooo, a vampire! You're into some really fucked up shit, right?"
I sipped on my whisky, hoping if I just ignored the werecat she'd go away. She was half shifted to show off her ears and tail and probably just barely old enough to be here if she wasn't using a fake ID. To my extreme annoyance, she refused to take the hint and pressed up against me, clinging onto my arm.
"Come on, don't be shy!"
I shot her a glare, but before I could tell her off Aster grabbed her by her bedazzled pink collar and yanked her off me. "You're not his type. Now fuck off."
The werecat hissed but scurried away when Aster shifted to her wolf form. Served her right.
With a sigh Aster shifted back to her human form and sat back down next to me. "I leave you alone for five minutes, and you manage to attract a floozy like that."
"I'm just too pretty for this world," I replied, putting on my most exaggerated distraught expression. "It's a real curse."
Aster snorted. "Yeah, yeah, poor you, pretty boy."
"How's Lillie holding up? Seems like there's more people tonight than normal."
"I might have to fill in for Mooda so he can help her with the drinks."
"I'll just take this..."
I slid her drink over in front of me, ignoring the ugly look she was giving me. "I hate you sometimes."
"Love you too, Sissy!" I blew her a kiss and was rewarded with a smack on my arm.
"Just don't get yourself into trouble tonight. I can't guarantee I'll be able to rescue you from yourself."
"I'm wounded! When have I ever gotten myself into trouble?"
Smack. "You know what you've done." The front door opened to admit another large group. With a sigh, Aster got up from our table and started heading in that direction. "Don't do anything stupid!"
I just sipped on her drink, watching her disappear into the throng of bodies. There were some very attractive strangers here tonight. A blue Genie caught my eye, but before I could get up to introduce myself, his boyfriend appeared beside him with a kiss and two drinks.
I blew out a breath, sipping idly on Aster's drink. Why were the pretty ones always taken?
I scanned the crowded bar, looking for other more eligible strangers to get to know. To my surprise, a particularly tall, dark, and handsome elf locked eyes with me and sauntered over.
"Hey there," he greeted, flashing me a dazzling smile. "Your wolf girl got bored with you?"
"That's my sister," I explained with a hand wave. "She's gotta fill in for the bouncer tonight."
"Well then, since we're both alone for the evening, how about I buy you a drink and we get to know each other?"
I downed the rest of Aster's drink and stacked her glass in mine. "I'd like that."
We weaved through the crowd together up to the bar. Mooda was already there, mixing drinks with surprisingly delicate movements for someone of his size and bulk. I'd made the mistake of hitting on him months ago, only to find out he was both very straight and very ace. Thankfully he wasn't the type to hold a grudge.
"Hey Seth," he said in his gravelly voice. "Aster told me to watch how much you drink tonight."
"Killjoy." I rolled my eyes. "I'm just gonna have a little more while I get to know my new friend."
He raised an eyebrow, looking the dark elf up and down. "Just one, got it?"
"This is why you're my favorite!" I gave him a wink, to which he just rolled his eyes.
We got our drinks and pushed back through the crowd to find my table had been taken by two wasted succubi sucking face on top of it. With a shrug, I pulled my dark elf hotty towards a quieter corner of the bar. There was no seating over here, but it was a nice place to lean away from the general chaos.
"So I gotta ask," the dark elf started, his violet eyes fixed on me, the corners of his mouth curling up in the hint of a smirk. "You are single, right? I've brought way too many married men home recently."
"Yikes! Yeah, I'm very single."
"Perfect! I don't need that kind of drama. I just wanna have fun with a hot guy, you know?"
I nodded, sipping on my drink. The alcohol was finally starting to kick in, warming me up a little and relaxing me. We talked about nothing for a while, sipping our drinks and flirting. Somewhere along the way we started making out, his body pressing me up against the wall. I wasn't sure who suggested it first, or even if we'd actually said it out loud at all, but we snuck out of the bar to find a hotel nearby.
As soon as we were alone in our room, he was on me again, kissing and groping all over. Then he pulled back, tilting his head to the side to expose his neck. "Bite me," he panted, his face flushed with excitement.
He might as well have asked me to eat a steak off his body. Somebody had to be into that, but it definitely wasn't my thing. He was pretty hot though. Maybe playing along for now would get us to something more my speed...
