After Reid was released from his imprisonment, he was required to see a councilor so he can have someone to talk to about his little "adventures". He wasn't opposed to this, in fact it seemed to help a bit.
As he walked through the door to the house, returning from a meeting with his councilor, Rami was there waiting for him. He sat on the couch. He didn't look very pleased.
"Hi, Reid." he said.
The deer looked confused. "Uhh ... h-hi. You ok?"
"Yeah. I just want to talk. Come sit, please."
Reid sat down next to Rami on the sofa. The goat turned to look at him.
"I would like to ask you something, if I may." Rami began. "Are you pleased with the things you were doing?"
Reid's ears drooped. "Um. N-No. I'm not."
"So, you regret becoming one of those ... vigilantes?"
Reid nodded. "Yes, I regret those choices."
Rami reached out and grabbed Reid's paw and held it. "You're my friend, Reid. You're my BEST friend. I know your heart was in the right place. I saw the files, I know why you were doing it. Where my head is at, though, is ... what if you got hurt?"
The deer gulped. "I-I don't know."
"I don't want to lose you, Reid. I don't want to see you go out there, and come back with a stab wound, a bullet wound, a broken neck, whatever ... nor do I want you to not come back at all. You could have died doing those things, Reid." Rami's eyes began to water.
Reid felt a lump in his throat. "I ... I-I know." his voice cracked.
"I love you. You're like my brother. I don't want to see you get hurt. Royd. He would be devastated if you were gone. You can't-." the dam broke.
Rami started to cry, and Reid immediately took him into a hug and held his friend tightly. Rami didn't reciprocate, but instead just leaned into him.
Reid spoke softly. "I know. I'm so sorry, Rami. I promise you. Right now, I give you my word. I'm giving up on that life. I'm done. I know I made mistakes, and I regret them completely. I just hope you ... and Royd, can forgive me for this."
Rami finally wrapped his arms around the deer, and nodded. Once he found his voice again, he spoke.
"I ... I-I do, Reid. I f-forgive you."

A house with his best friend, and a job he loves more than he could have ever imagined. But something he doesn't know, is he was about to receive a call from his boss. This call would turn out to be one of the most important calls he will ever get, and it could very well change his life for good.
