Night had already fallen in the mysterious Taker 'lair'. The moon had risen and shined brightly through the night sky, illuminating the darkness. Stars glimmered from above, with Orion and friends visible from the ground.
"Where do I sleep?" Sashimi asked.
"Hmmm... I have no idea. I've only been here an extra hour or two before you were plopped into here." Carrot shrugged. "I did sleep a little around the ground but it was pretty uncomfortable. Before you came, this place didn't have rocks and that hideously fake treasure chest."
At that comment, the treasure chest unleashed a wave of bubbles surging through the water to the surface.
"Excellent timing. I'm proud of you, fake treasure chest." Carrot muttered.
Sashimi raised a non-existent eyebrow at Carrot. She was secretly judging his sanity.
Carrot turned to look at her staring at him questionably. "What?"
"Nothing."
"Good."
Sashimi swam towards the treasure chest. It was big enough to divide the tank into two sections. "I'll sleep here," she gestured to the left (to the left) area.
"You could sleep there," she pointed her fin to the right side.
"But I wanted the left side!" Carrot whined like a little girl.
"Suck it up, Princess."
Carrot frowned. "Why am I the princess? Can I be the macho ballerina instead?"
Sashimi looked sternly at him. "Fine."
That brightened Carrot's mood more than he thought it would.
"I'm hungry." Carrot declared.
"Eat then. That's what you're supposed to do when you're hungry."
"I know. I'm not as dumb as you think I am." Carrot grumbled. He swam to the top of the tank where the disgusting food was conveniently placed on top of the water. Bracing himself for the dull algae, Carrot gulped in preparation. He had an idea. "Sashimi! Come and eat with me."
Sashimi groaned inwardly as she swam up to Carrot. "These algae can't be as good as the lake stuff."
"Trust me; it's somehow even better than that." Carrot took a small gulp pretending he ate a lot. It would look like it from Sashimi's angle. The gross taste hit his taste buds but he put on a smile and ushered Sashimi to eat some.
"I suggest a large bite. It tastes better in large quantities."
