Kanji's Pov

     It's been several years since college. Tsutomu and I got married three years ago. Tsutomu took my last name. We adopted a three year old girl, who is currently seven, named Yuri lily who has black hair and brown eyes, and a one year old boy, who is now five, named Nori ceremony who has light brown hair and grey eyes.

    My sister still lives in Canada, yet she visits every summer, and her winter vacation. Her kids have gotten older, and she was happy to be an aunt, even though they’re adopted. Tsutomu’s family changed as well. His sister got engaged to her girlfriend Kanoka Amanai, who was also her roommate in college, and Kenjiro got married to Eita Semi some years back. Kenjiro’s kid considers Tsutomu and Layla as family, even if they aren’t blood related. 

    Even though Tsutomu stopped cutting years ago, I still check his arms and chest to make sure no new cuts, and the cuts are healing well. One day when I was checking his scars, our two kids looked at them with a confused expression on their faces. 

    “Papa, why are there lines on daddy’s arm?” They asked, curiously. I looked up to Tsutomu to see who was going to explain. 

    “Well, the lines are cuts, and the cuts are battle scars. The battle scars show that a person survived a hard time in their life,” Tsutomu explained as I was cheeking his arm. 

    “Daddy, when did you go through a hard time?” Yuri asked. Both of the kids looked up to meet Tsutomu’s eyes. He looked over at me with a worried expression. I looked down on the two, and then looked back at him and nodded. 

    “Well, I was in high school and half a year of college when I went through a hard time. My parents didn’t like me or your aunt Layla. I made the lines to help with the pain,” Tsutomu explained. 

    “What made ya stop in college daddy?” Nori asked, looking up with his bright grey eyes. 

    “First off, your eyes remind me of your uncle Eita, don’t they?” Tsutomu chuckled, with a smile from Nori. “Secondly, your papa was the one who stopped me, and helped through the rest of the time.” Yuri and Nori had these huge smiles from hearing that. 

    “Is that where you met papa, daddy?” Yuri asked with a nod from Nori. I shook my head. 

    “Actually, we met at a volleyball training camp in our first year of high school. We lost contact afterwards since we went to different schools, and our schools barely played together,” Tsutomu said with a smile. I finished checking his arms, and I patted the bed for the kids to come up. 

    “Do the cuts still hurt?” Nori asked, touching one of them. 

    Tsutomu shook his head, “They don’t hurt anymore. They’re as healed as they’re gonna get.” 

    I pulled Tsutomu in for a hug with him laughing, and I whispered in his ear, “Like I said,
