Kathyrn arranged some gear within the ballon and within seconds they had lifted off. They flew higher and higher until they could see all of the forest and even some of the village.

"Woah! Look at this!" Thorin gasped.

"Yeah it's beautiful but I think we should go down soon... I have to be back before dinner..." Kathryn sighed as she sat beside him as she looked towards the looming sunset she imagined a world bigger than the one she knew.

Thorin noticed and could only heave a sigh:

"You want to leave one day, don't you...?"

"Yes..." Kathryn answered truthfully she had no desire to lie to her friend, "I feel trapped and I want to leave... I hear all these stories from Dad... And I want to experience them not just hear about them... I love the oriental pearl but... I just feel trapped inside a bubble that I can't escape."

"Hmm... I get that I too would like to find my biological family too..."

"Haha! Then let's go together!"

"Hahaha, okay together we shall."

Kathryn threw the blanket over her invention as Thorin grabbed two nearby baskets... They still had to get mangoes after all!

So that's what they did. They rushed back to the tree and picked as much of the fruit as she baskets would allow before they scrambled out of the forest and back to the village.

But as they arrived they could see Ryan there arms crossed as he glared at the two youngsters.

"You left me to tidy up your mess!"

Kathryn awkwardly laughed... She had forgotten about Ryan...

"Sorry, bro... But I got mangoes..."

"Ugh!" Ryan threw his hands up in the air in annoyance before he turned back to the children to address them once more:

"Thorin, Tita Rosas is waiting for you. Kath... Come on Mom wants you to help in the kitchen."

The children nodded before they went separate ways knowing that tomorrow they'd see each other again.

Ryan helped Kathryn carry the mangoes up to their homestead.

"Thanks for the help, Ryan..."

"No problem... By the way, Kath, I need to warn you - foreigners have been sighted near the shore, so be careful when you are near the eastern beach."

"Ryan, we are half foreign don't forget." Kathryn chided.

"I know and I am proud that I am but I'm not talking about foreigners in general I am talking about the Ispanians... They are not to talk or anything of the sort... They are here to cause problems." Ryan explained:

"I was here the first time they came ashore and whilst I was too young to remember all of it I can remember what they did."

"That's how we got Thorin isn't it?"

"Yeah... Apparently, they stole him from a Viking ship - don't ask me how they did it but they did, who knows what else they may try to take."
