It's the year 2045 and I just turned a year older before my actual birthday. This Korean tradition will make me get older fast. Thank you is an understatement of how grateful I am for all these years that I was blessed with both supportive parents by my side.

Every step of the way and new journeys I've embarked in my life, my parents have never left my side. No matter how loaded they are, my mom and dad always find time for me. I believed that no amount of power can tantamount the power of love can give, and I am a living testimony of that.

My dad never hides how my mom changed his life for the better. For him, meeting her is such a huge risk that he made yet the best damn decision of his life. I could feel the entire zoo with butterflies inside my stomach every time he would share stories about their wedding and how they would fight and get back to love business afterwards.

While sipping my mom's favorite Iced Americano, it came across my mind that for the whole 30 years of my existence, I never got the chance to ask her about her greatest love. I only knew how much my dad loves her but haven't had any chance to ask her about it. She is a distinguished corporate lawyer before I came into her life, her name echoes until today in the legal field.

One fine day during our girl vacation in Valleta, I finally got the opportunity to make her open up about what I want to know. After all, I am a writer by profession, and it will be worthwhile to hear her talk about things that might inspire me more in my career and life.

"The weather is great here in Valleta or maybe I'm just getting old that's why I prefer this climate more." My mom said and sipped the espresso I ordered for her in this tropical coffee shop near the beach.

"Then I must be getting old too because I love the weather here." I told her. A smile then filled up her face.

It was contrary to my expectations of her choosing espresso, for all I know this isn't her favorite drink. I sighed with the thought of not knowing her deeply and that is the connection I am trying to establish in this entire trip and finally, I broke all thoughts in my head and started the conversation for my agenda.

"Mom, how often did you travel before you and dad got married?"

"Not much; I am always caught up with work, that's why traveling is the least thing I do."

"For someone who doesn't travel a lot, your taste isn't totally different from jetsetters."

"How so?"

"You always choose the destination for our annual girl vacation, always the best for me."

"I'm just grateful we have a steady internet connection back in Seoul and I get to make use of it to search for nice destinations for us."

"We could put this country in the journal as the most visited one out of all the countries we've been to."

She stared at me for a while trying to breathe in what she just heard.

"Well, this is our third time here in Valleta but this counts as our 15th visit in Malta. I guess Malta is your favorite country."

She smiled and said, "Maybe not.... Maybe the place hasn't given me enough to feed my hunger."

"Do you think Dad will also enjoy this country with us?"

"I don't think so. He's definitely the last person to ever go here."
