My eyes were locked on the mirror as I stared at the glass in amazement. There stood a beautiful woman with bright, glowing green eyes with soft locks of brown hair cascading down her back. The dress that covered her body made her appear as if she were a angel giving her an angelic look.

"Is this me?" I questioned stretching my arm to touch the mirror not believing that the person reflecting upon it was me.

My amazement was soon cut short hearing the loud shriek of my mother. "Oh my! Elizabeth, Tara, you two look so beautiful!"

I stepped away from the mirror and walked out my room stopping at the head of the stairs.

"Father, how do we look?" I heard Elizabeth ask joyfully.

"Yes father, what do you think about these dresses?" Tara spoke too.

Father cleared his throat. "You two look great my dears and the dresses are well looking as well."

My sisters giggled saying their thanks and continued chatting with mother who boasted about their beauty lifting the spirits of my sisters.

My hands clutched my dress as I thought about if mother would say to me the encouraging words she spoke to my sisters.

Would she say I looked beautiful as well?

Carefully, I walked down the stairs lifting the dress from the front to ensure I would not fall or get it tangled with my feet and make a tear.

As I reached the bottom, my mother and sisters did not notice me instantly however my father did.

"Akira," He whispered walking up to me. "You look lovely my child. My mama would have cried seeing you." I could see the tears he was trying to hold back as he held me in his arms.

"Thank you papa." I hugged him back. As I pulled away from him, I saw the we had gained the attention of three people each with a glare painted in their eyes almost making me flinch.

"Alright then Elizabeth, Tara it's time we depart. The carriages may come soon. Richard, let's leave now." Mother said not once acknowledging me. I would have thought I was invisible to her if it weren't for the casual sharp glances she shot me.

"Danie-" Father spoke in a warning tone but mother paid no mind. She was already out the door as well as my sisters.

How do I look mother?

The questioned burned in my throat but nothing came out as I knew it would be an answer I would not get...or like.

Father placed his hand on my shoulder giving it a squeeze of comfort.
