The sunlight peeked through the cream tinted curtains, the sound of birds chirping became a natural alarm. I groaned as I kept my eyes shut, flipping on to my side as I feel a person next to me. The warmth becomes inviting to my hands, roaming freely over their skin.
Warm... how did I get here?
I heard a deep sigh by the top of my head, the thoughts ran through my head of what mistakes I had made while under the influence. I usually always made out or had one-night stands with men who just didn't live up to expectations.
"Good morning, kitten," the man said, I looked up to see a blonde man, motionless with his eyes closed. My eyes scanned the rest of the room, and I noticed a brown-haired man, sitting in the corner with a book and two coffees. The smell of hot coffee pulled me from my mind, the man looked up at me, the smile on his face makes my body melt.
"Good morning," my face heated up from not remembering much in this moment, "I'm sorry, I seem to be still asleep," I tried to leave the bed and sit with the man. I struggled to break free from the attractive blondes' arms.
"That is okay, Davina, do you remember anything?" His voice soft, he turns the page in his book. I intently stare at him, slowly turning my head to the blonde one. I know the blonde; he was charming and funny.
"He's Kota, we met at the library, when we hit it off, he asked if I wanted to go to a club," I removed his arm from me and stood from the bed. Just a dress shirt and my panties adorn my body, I moved to the chair and pointed to the coffee in front of me.
"Go for it, kitten."
"I know your name is Declan, you joined me and Kota on the dance floor," I took a small sip of the coffee, the bitter taste of caffeine blended harmoniously with the silky cream and sugar. There were hints of vanilla, I closed my eyes; slowly my exhaustion left my body only to be left with aches.
"Do you remember anything after the club, little one," said Kota, his voice above a whisper. His voice laced with a thick New York accent. He kissed my forehead softly and nodded to Declan.
"Of course, I remember, I was tipsy not full blown blacked out," my eyebrows knitted together, furrowed towards my eyes. "why are you asking me these questions?" I looked to both men; small smiles spread across their faces.
"We just don't enjoy the idea that we may have taken advantage of you, Davina," Declan said, his voice small, there was no hesitation or pause. The somber tone in his voice became conflicting in my heart.
"Declan, you and your brother, ravished me last night," I sipped my coffee, remaining as calm and collected as I possibly could. The memories flashed in my head; my vagina clenched at the empty feeling. "Besides, Kota, If I remember correctly, I had begged for the two mafia men to do as much," I said as I glanced in Kota's direction.
"You do sound nice when you beg, little one."
"That she does, Kota."
"Okay, that aside, I need more detail on your situations and where I stand in this," my bold statement rang through the room. I met Declan's eyes and shrugged, unsure how to justify my words. "I just think it would be rude to claim mafia, and not show me, I don't enjoy being dupped, my dears,"
"Say that again," Kota walked over to the chair I was seated on, he crouched in front of me. He placed his hands on my knees, ran his thumb softly over my bare skin.
"My dears."
"Do you enjoy spending time around us?" Declan asked. He stood from his seat, made his way behind my chair, and placed his hands on my shoulders. He gently massaged my neck; their touches were not overbearing.
"I've only spent one day with you, but it hasn't been completely awful," a small smirk creeped upon my lips, quickly I shook the look; wary of the trouble it could cost.
They both began to make their way to the bedroom door, as they looked forward, they motioned for me to follow them. They leaded me to a drawing room, the dark walls adorned by bookshelves full of countless books. Mouth agape, I ran my fingers over the newer looking books and made my way over to the older ones.
'The Remington's'. I ran my finger along the spine of the older book, I began to pull it out from its place. The book was very well kept, the pages were pristine but faded into a pale yellow. I opened the book to the first page; my eyes grow wide at the letter written on the blank page.
Boys,
Do take care of this book, it contains all the information you will need to lead our clan. If the wrong person gains this information, everyone around us including us will suffer.
Kota do take care of your brother; he can be intense and an asshole at times. Keep his temper in check.
Declan... Keep your brother from fucking the whole city before some girl claims a heir to our throne.
You know what you must do.
I looked up from the page and pointed at them, switching back and forth. Without a second thought the words spilled from my lips, soon coming to regret them.
"Manwhore," I pointed to Kota, turning my attention to Declan, and pointed, "You're an asshole."
"What the fuck, Davina."
"That was not called for, kitten."
Shit.
"I'm sorry, I read this," I handed the book to Kota, sheepishly I looked down and covered my face. "I just said what it said, I'm truly sorry for my crudeness,"
"Oh, Davina, that's from our dad, you have no filter, don't you?"
"Obviously not, what do you think, Kota, should we fix that?" Declan sat at the edge of the desk and smirked.
"I think it's cute, no one talks to us like that, but I don't feel like throwing her out a window when she does."
"Then we should enjoy the feeling and her behaviors as she is."
"So, you wanted to know the story of the Remington's, little one?" Kota asked. He gave the book back to me before he walked over to a lounge chair. "Read up, my love, and when you have a question ask away."
"Okay, thank you for being willing to show me,"
I sat on an adjacent lounge chair, opening the book to the second page. Intently I had stared at the words on the pages, engulfed in the feelings and memories that were laid out by their father.
